Anyway, good luck the rest of the way. However, you are in our division next year so this will probably the last time I say this lol. But feel free to beat the Rangers every time you play them.
Thanks. Good luck to the Islanders.

I've always liked StŚlberg since he was undrafted and playing on a line with CBJ draft pick Kirill Starkov that dominated the Swedish junior league. IMO, he might fit with the Jackets.

The Caps trading Filip Forsberg was absolutely stupid. Forsberg really stepped up his game in the Allsvenskan playoffs and was a big part of getting his team promoted to the Elitserien. He was playing at a completely different level. I could see him doing very well in the NHL next season.

Edited to add: Forsberg could be coming over as soon as next week once the Kvalserien is wrapped up on the 5th. Technically, CBJ's Anton Forsberg could too, along with Daniel Zaar - if they are signed.
I can't believe what Nashville and Buffalo got for Erat and Pominville. Washington and Minnesota gave up way too much, IMO.

Come on.

He wasn't working out there and they weren't going to re-sign him.

Washington.. on paper now, I'd say yes. But there might be more below the surface. Something we don't know.

Fell at the draft, wasn't good at Caps development camp and now this trade.. Idk..

Wild had the assets to do this. Good trade for both teams. The got better for this and next year and I think Pominville re-signs. And didn't hurt to much long-term if at all. One of the best prospect pool in the whole league.

Edmonton has outscored the opposition in the last five games (all wins) by something like 27-7. If they keep pulling ahead then we would have to pass two of St. Louis, Detroit, San Jose, Los Angeles, and Vancouver.

Blues beat the Hawks in the shootout. We remain behind them. Edmonton and Detroit now losing their games.

Crawford with one of the worst shootout performances ever. He started way too far out of the crease on every attempt and went down with any movement.

Washington is the 3 seed in the East with less points then we have. The Southeast division is a joke.

Makes me happy this system is getting nixed in the realignment.

*insert obligatory comment about how Carolin and Tampa won cups, so clearly the Southleast isn't that bad*

They also have several more wins than we do, and haven't been feasting on the 3rd point like we have.

I wouldn't count two more wins as "several". And only 3 ROW's on us, which isn't great for us, but still wouldn't use that word to describe how many more they have on us. Semantics, maybe. But, well, points are points. We're dealing with the same system everyone else is.

Miriam Webster does.

a : more than one <several pleas>
Though they contradict themselves with the very next definition:

b : more than two but fewer than many <moved several inches>
so I'll claim it was pointing to Regulation and Overtime Wins

Same system, yes, same competition, no.

East has played 554 games, and awarded 612 points
West has played 548 games, and awarded 620 points
West has played 6 fewer games, yet awarded 8 more points.

More points are being awarded per game in the West than is being done in the East.

Fair enough. I guess I've just always had the notion that several means a lot, and it seems I'm incorrect. Pedantic squabble on my part.

Andy Moog's save percentage was higher under Hitchcock than the rest of his career because the conditions of the game changed so dramatically during their time together. Five times he was in the top 10 leaguewide in save percentage; four of those times were 1990-91 and earlier and none of them were .900 or above. In 1994-95, when his .915 save percentage ranked him 4th, it was a 48-game season and goal-scoring as a whole dropped by nearly 10%.

Ed Belfour had the same thing happen, starting his career in a higher-scoring era and ending it there, while his prime years were in the dead puck era. He led the league in 1990-91 with a .910, but his .916 in 1997-98 and .915 in 1998-99 ranked him just 8th and 10th, respectively.

None of the other goalies have anywhere close to a large enough sample size to be able to correctly analyze.

It's not your fault (since it's not like you did the analysis or wrote the article), but this is really poorly done.

Hard to cheer for anyone in the Detroit - St Louis game at 12:30, other than it not be a 3-point game.

I guess I'd prefer St. Louis as I think we have a better chance of catching Detroit than the Blues. If by some miracle, we catch up to them in ROW (the first tie-breaker), we'd win the second tie-breaker against Detroit for owning them in the season series.
