Ernie ? He'd be 51, I guess. It's not that common a name and I got a flash back of taking attendance in Grade 3 ? My Mom probably burned the class pictures in a purifacation ritual.
No Ernie's that I know of in my family, but I'll ask my dad.
Well, at first, my Internet nickname was only Ajax, because of Ajax Amstedam, not Ajax, Ontario and goats.
Somehow, my username was erased by RDS and not available anymore. I was not even on the already messy Habs board at the time...
So I thought of adding a prefix, and I come up with Stan, because of that Eminem song that was always on the air at the time, and made me think it was a perfect diminutive of Stanley...for Stanley Cup obviously !

I had an unfortunate experience with Ajax[the cleaning compound] at my stag party, but Id' rather not discuss it.
It's my real name. Well a dimunitive of Philippe Parent.
First name is the French corruption of the greek "Phileinippos" which means "Who Loves Horses".
Last name was handed down to me all the way from my ancestor, who landed here in 1651. He was illeterated and came here because there was a need for a butcher in the colony. Amazingly, he couldn't read or write, but he could draw and count, so he drew lines (Which acted as numbers) and animals to help him keep accounts, and drew a knife as his signature.
My middle name, not in my nick, is "Theodore". Which is Greek for "Gift Of God"

My nickname started in 1997.
My real name is maxime (max) and back then I use to have a lot of K2 sports gear (like my snowboard was a FatBob, my rollerskates were the Fatty's) and my favorite singer/band was Fat Mike from NOFX, hence fatmax!
Althought, it is really hard to have it all the time on different borad, but I'm proud to have the fatmax@hotmail.com personnal adress!
I got the nickname "Dave Nash" a couple of years ago when I was doing a hockey pool with my buddies. It was Rick Nash's rookie year and, getting a little bit drunk, I got too enthusiastic when I drafted him. The other 11 guys in the room found this so funny, they called me Dave Nash that night (my first name is Dave, obviously).
The funny thing is, I picked Nash in all of my hockey pools ever since and every time I pick him, they all yell "DAVE NASH!".

I hope you don't have wildone26 in one of your pools.
