Doubt it. Yandle is more of a draft day move. Flyers are too far gone IMO to pay the premium it would take at this point. I expect Bryz to be bought out this summer as well.

Bouwmeester traded to St. Louis. Now might not be a bad time to try and trick a desperate Holmgren into overpaying for Yandle.

San Jose, Edmonton, St Louis, Detroit win. Nashville picks up a point. Anyone still holding out hope?

Going to do a lot of scoreboard watching today. Not sure who I don't want to win wings vs blues. I rooting for Dallas over San Jose and I guess the wild over the jackets. Either way please no 3 point games.

Making it abundantly clear that we are chasing DET for the 8th spot.

Remaining schedules:

Detroit:
vs SJ*
@ CHI*
@ NAS
@ CAL
@ VAN*
vs PHX
vs LAK*
vs NAS
@ DAL
4 home, 5 road, 4 games against current playoff* teams

Phoenix:
@ VAN*
@ EDM
@ CAL
vs SJ*
@ STL*
@ CHI*
@ DET*
vs SJ*
vs COL
@ ANA*
3 home, 7 road, 7 games against current playoff* teams.

The really bad looking stat is the Yotes are 4-8-5 (38%) on the road this season, including 1-4-3 (31%) in March. Granted 6 of those 8 March games were against current playoff teams, but their remaining schedule has 5 of 7 against playoff teams on the road.

I can also see Minnesota falling as well. Only 3 goals in their last 3 games.

Possible, though all 3 of those were against current playoff teams and two of them on the road.

Remaining Minny schedule:
@ CLB
vs CHI*
vs STL*
vs CLB
@ CAL
@ EDM
@ SJ*
vs CAL
vs LAK*
vs EDM
@ COL
6 home, 5 road, only 4 against current playoff teams and 3 of those are at home. Relatively favorable schedule compared to many of the other teams fighting for a playoff spot.

And for completion, here's Edmonton and Columbus' schedules remaining.

Edmonton
@ ANA*
vs PHX
vs CAL
vs MIN*
@ COL
vs ANA*
vs ANA*
vs CHI*
@ MIN*
vs VAN*
7 home games, 3 road games, 7 of 10 against current playoff teams. Summary: advantage they get those home games, but brutal 5 games to finish season though.

Columbus
vs SJ*
vs STL*
@ MIN*
@ COL
@ ANA*
@ LAK*
@ SJ*
@ DAL
vs NAS
3 home, 6 road, 6 of 9 against playoff teams. Summary: harsh 6 game road trip coming up.

It might. Stars have looked really good post-deadline and post callups, and they may well pass Detroit and move the 8th place rabbit back a bit. Reallignment is going to throw a wrench in to the Coyotes / Stars relationship next season, but keep an ear to the ground about a kid named Alex Chiasson ...

If the Yotes win tomorrow against Edmonton then it doesn't have that big of an impact on playoff hopes. If the Yotes lose then it had a huge effect as there will be one more team they have to leapfrog to make the playoffs.

Detroit lost in the Shootout. ..2 points up. Play Chicago tomorrow and we get Calgary. They have the tie breaker in regular wins but sets up for a play in game at Detroit. ..and plus more wins after that.

Fiddler sucks and is terrible in post season play. Gordon is twice the player. I'd love to have Whitney this season, but not next season at that price. Which is exactly why Maloney let him go. Can't afford him at that rate, at that age next season.

Dallas wins their 5th straight and has now jumped Detroit into the 8th spot.
