1 or 2 of the goalies on your list won't be with the oganization next year. Just a guess.

I'm with you.

The Amerks are at the vet limit. So fans find something else to complain about?

I wouldn't have liked more players to come back to the Amerks, but that's just the dynamics of the CBA. Not Regier's fault.

EVERY team in the AHL had to follow this same rule. So we are on a level playing field (players "stuck" at the NHL level).

Of course this hurts teams whose NHL team is out of the playoffs the most (compared to previous years).

Amerks generally just assign numbers to new players.

Ok, good point, I was a goalie short anyway. Maybe Just trade Enroth, that gives us 6 goalies at 3 levels to mix. Miller seems to want out anyway. He owns most franchise records and he won't win a cup with us so what the hell.

Question:

Whats the deal with Kea being on the Amerks? Tryout? does it make him playoff eligible?

He's on a ATO or PTO (not sure, doesn't matter). He's playoff eligible but Cassidy hasn't said whether or not he's getting game action. Sundher and Catenacci did the same thing last year, sign a tryout, practice, but never dressed.

Amerks outlast Phantoms with 5-4 shootout win:
Quote:
Four different goal-scorers found the back of the net and rookie forward Colin Jacobs recorded his first professional multi-point game as the Rochester Americans outlasted a late-game comeback by the Adirondack Phantoms and earned a 5-4 shootout win over their intrastate rivals Saturday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

With the win, Rochester improves to 38-27-3-1, including 8-1 in shootouts this season, and moves the Amerks back into a fifth-place tie with Houston in the Western Conference standings with just seven games remaining in the 2012-13 regular season.

Patrick Rissmiller, Frederick Roy, Drew Schiestel and Mark Mancari each scored in regulation for the Amerks while Mancari and Jacobs also converted in the shootout. David Leggio made 39 saves through 65 minutes before denying four of five Adirondack shooters in the skills competition on his way to claiming his AHL-leading 36th win of the season.

Wouldn't it have been sensible to play Hackett? Still good for the win. Larsson with 2 points in 2 games.

He's on an ATO (amateur tryout ) just like Catenacci last year since Kea still at the time, they have junior eligibility. It's not a bad thing to get him around the guys, around the organization.

Besides, it seems Jacobs is actually managing to put up points in limited minutes so they may want to continue rolling with the guy who is finding the scoresheet.

I'd love to see Larsson centering Tropp/Girgs.

Larsson, Tropp, and specialist Jacobs score in the shootout as Roch defeats Albany 3-2. Matt Hackett 39 saves for 1st star of the game.

9 wins in the shoot out. 9-1 record there. Without it, they're probably not a playoff team.

Either way, they were outplayed all 3 games this weekend by non playoff teams. Points or not, wasn't a promising weekend.

Very promising weekend by the Amerks. Nice to see them racking up some wins.

I heard Hackett did very well for you guys, and Larsson scored in the shootout. Good, I know you'll be very happy with them. Great players.

I wouldn't doubt it. But you can't base opinions off box scores. Getting soundly outplayed, 3 nights in a row, to non playoff teams isn't "promising". The shoot out bailed them out this weekend. Unfortunately that's not around in the playoffs.
