I'll take a Russo Coyle man-crush over Spurgeon-loving.

Exactly. This team was dead in the water at that time anyway.

Good period for everyone but Bouchard. Though, I did get a laugh when Butch tried his typical enter the offensive zone, spin towards the boards to try to get space from the defender in front of him, only to turn off the boards and end up face to face with the trailing defender who knew exactly what he was going to do...just as everyone else in the world knew.

Well the 2nd period was better for sure, thanks to the powerplays. Not getting anything done 5on5 though.

Why offer someone something when you know they aren't going to do it??

It's weird. When we're rolling, Koivu shoots and doesn't think. But when we've faced some adversity, he never shoots.

I am a little mad though that nobody has roughed up Gaborik. That shoulda happened on the first damn shift. Knock him off his game. But, apparently we're not allowed to have that in our gameplan, and other teams just do it to us

Oi!

There's nothing wrong loving the little ones.

Koivu was looking for that perfect backdoor play on pominville. Too fancy.

that right there is some crazy logic. they would have given him an offer if they wanted him even if they suspected he'd get a better one. Fletcher came in to give the Wild a new identity and separate himself from the old regime. No matter how smart fans considered koivu the center of the team the one thing almost every fan in the league associated with us was Gaborik (well, lemaire, too).

Agreed. PP goals are nice but I want improvement on our 5on5 play.

That would have nice, but the Wild are not very physical.

They didn't have the cap space to make a legit offer after DR overpaid Backstrom. Fletcher never really had the option.
