Easy to live on the edge with games in hands and up on points from the 9th place team.

Yes you really should because you ruined the only little time of entertainment I have. Ok it was a bit of bad luck but if you weren't panicking as much making threads on knee jerk reactions, it wouldn't have happened because no one else spoil results around here. I watch 90% of games recorded on PVR because of work and the fact that my 56 y/o mother is in her 4th consecutive cancer. I always log in to open the GDT and didn't have a problem doing that for a very long time. It was discussed Ad nauseam and people finally agreed to not spoil results in thread titles.

Yes, because this team is going to drop 7 in a row

Assuming Buffalo holds on and beats New Jersey 2-1....

The Devils, Jets and Flyers (9th, 10th and 11th seed) are all playing .500 (point-wise) hockey. This would mean they are on pace to finishing with the same number of points as games played which is 48.

Not saying they will finish that low, but the low of 51ish is possible. That would mean three wins and an OT loss. If we break out of this slump, the playoffs are pretty safe.

They could. We've lost 4 in a row already and our next 3 games won't be cakewalks. Tampa could wreck our defence, New Jersey is desperate, and Philly is good team at home.

New Jersey and Carolina have had some brutal stretches and they have better teams on paper.

There actually is a silver lining. With all games played this season being within the conference, straight up wins and losses tend to matter a great deal. Losing to the two bottom teams was brutal in terms of not picking up points, but the bright side is that we gave away points to teams that are not in the hunt for a playoff spot. If the last two losses were against NY and NJ we would be in far worse shape right now.

Nah people have to remember this team is good and played good.

If Michalek can come back it will make a big difference in our top 6

9MM -Turris -Alfie
Silfverberg -Zibanejad -Conacher

Plenty of time yet to hit the panic button. It's pretty reasonable for us to be upset after our fourth straight loss, and to the worst team in the conference, but let's not abandon all hope. The losing streak has to end eventually, and it should come sooner than later. We're still in 6th spot, so let's keep believing for now.

No, what the thread-starter suggested. It's completely illogical to posit that one loss can cause a streak.

I think Philly will make a run. They have the most favorable schedule remaining playing NYI twice, Buffalo, Carolina. Not to mention us twice so going .500 in the last 10 for them is very doable. Going 7 for 10 is the type of roll teams with that kind of talent and coaching can do.

Ottawa needs to go .500 to make it.

Hopefully Michalek will be back to bring some balance into the line-up. Sens won or got a point in a lot of games they had no business winning, now are losing more games that they deserved better.

The lack of talent is starting to show, and the season grinding on isn't any easier on Alfie and Gonchar who should be playing supporting roles, not primary ones this season.

Still think the Sens will make the playoffs, even if it is by the skin of their teeth.

I'm not holding my breath. A Spezzaless Michalek? No thanks.

He had a very good impact when he came back for a few games before the surgery. Players got to go back to proper positions, and it gave a speed element on both top lines.

Team did the same type of thing last year didn't they? Obviously, that was minus the injuries and all, but still seem to remember them slipping to the brink before pulling off a 3-game winning streak then getting some help.

Hopefully the same is in the cards this year!!!

There is a good chance we win 8 of the next 10 games with a bit of luck, unlikely but not out of reach. Only problem I see is Boston and Pittsburgh but both are pretty vulnerable right now.Who knows, we might win the next 10 games

I pray we can take down the mammoth in the road that is Boston next Monday. So tired of losing to them.

And he did it with knee problems. Hopefully he has recovered and can be a Little more too.

Not panicking, but... Really scared. McStache said this game was a must win. I saw no such evidence last night.
