As a Sabres fan, I'd be pissed if they passed on Monahan for Zadarov--my assumption would be they felt set at center with Grigs, Girgs, Hodgson, Ennis, and Larsson in the system--only to draft a center like Lazar later in the 1st (over Horvat, no less).

If the board broke this way, I'd want them to pick Monahan and either Horvat or Hartman.

Agree on both counts. I'd rather the Sabres go Monahan/Horvat if the draft fell the way you have it going.

Absolutely no way Coyotes take a defenseman in the first round, maybe not even the first two rounds. If Shinkaruk is still on the board Maloney might break the land speed record running to the podium to make the pick.

Why do you have Hunter falling so far with players like Domi and Gauthier going ahead of him, by the way?

why is it so hard for some to believe Lazar could be picked over Horvat? you could make a case that they are almost a clone of each other stats wise...both had 61 points this season, both had more goals than assists as well (with Lazar actually leading the Oil Kings in goals) and both are sound defensively. even in the playoffs, hockeyDB says they both have played 7 playoff games and both have 4 goals and 0 assists! their even similar in size, but with Horvat heavier. i don't think it should surprise anyone if one get's picked over the other.

From a Vancouver perspective I love it, Mantha is someone I'm really high on, although I doubt he makes it to us.

My only other comment is that Gauthier looks a bit too high given his drop-off in play following his surgery.

^agreed. Rasmus is likely the 2nd best d-man in the draft. i'd be very happy if my Oilers got him.

Gauthier is a terrible pick at #11.

Shinkaruk is far too low. Switch those two and it looks much better.

Yotes won't be drafting another D in the 1st. At 14 we'll probably be taking one of Shinkaruk, Wennberg, or Lazar.

I can't imagine Calgary passing on Mantha or Lazar to draft Fucale. The last thing we need is another goaltending prospect that is years away from having an impact at the NHL level (if at all).

The Flames need EVERYTHING!!!!!

I do agree though if Lazar is there Flames will take him.

Either way whomever the Fames take will be a flop

It's kinda ther thing- Jankowski, Irving, Chucko, Nemisz, Pelech, or Nystrom

As a ducks fan, I wouldn't be to excited about picking up Madison Bowey with our 1st round pick. I'd rather the Ducks picked up JT Compher instead .

Calgary with 3 1st round picks from QMJ seems odd seeing as how they have picked once (5th round) from the Q in the last 6 years.

Lazar would make the most sense with the next pick maybe Hartman or Mantha
