I liked everything but the Tim Thomas political stuff, and the Eminem stuff at the end. With a little more digging the videos could have been filled with more cheap shots and dirty plays. Along with hypocritical interviewing. All in all, very good videos.

I know a lot of it is tongue-in-cheek, but the Roy love on the Canucks board is very strange to read.

It's top-30 center Derek Roy.

I wish him luck; I always liked Roy despite wanting him gone. He'll forever be one of the players I associate with those great post-lockout teams. And of course the years of mediocrity after handing him and the rest of the Roch core the keys.

Would someone please ask Doc Emrick where he sees a letter "L" in the name "DeKeyser"?

It was pretty cool. His goal sealed the game with around a minute left. When the Columbus PA announcer in the arena called the goal, the arena was silent enough, you could hear his family cheer. His wife and kids along with his dad were in the stands. They were all dressed in Wild gear sent to them overnight from St.Paul by the team.

They actually surprised Pommer by flying to Columbus for the game, and they get to see his first goal and assist with the Wild.

So If I just start updating this thread with random musings about games that happened three years ago in the present tense then that's cool?

Maybe if you take three years to think about them your posts won't be terrible

For those of you not keeping track at home Ovechkin's been playing roughly equivalent to Crosby's pace over the past 20 or so games. IF he keeps it up, I'd have a hard time picking anyone else for Hart.

Incidentally, your periodical Miller vs others post:

Rinne: 38 GP, .915 %
Miller: 34 GP, .915 %
Price: 31 GP, .916 %
Lehtonen: 30 GP, .916%
Quick: 29 GP, .898%

What exactly is your criteria for putting together this list? You left out pretty much every goaltender that has 30+ GP who coincidentally has a better save percentage than him

He's currently ranked 8/13 in save percentage amongst goalies with 30+ GP and 9/13 in GAA in the same criteria. You can include Bob & Quick if you want (29 GP) but he still slots in the same place.

As of right now my vote would be for Henrik for Vezina. He's got the better numbers and isn't a one year wonder (like Bob). We've seen lots of goalies go nuts for a season and then fall back to earth. I'm always hesitant to give that kind of award when a guy is having a breakout year.

Leaving out Hank is pretty much conceding that he is the best goalie in the league right now.

I think the criteria is.... he is showing the list that has been considered the top goalies for the last few years... regardless of how Bob or Anderson is playing this year...no rational person would put them above Miller.

Why?

The Vezina goes to the best goalie for a particular season in the NHL. Its not given to the best goalie over the several seasons. One year wonder or not, if a guy is having an incredible year he deserves to be in the discussion. Their previous play or any other goalie's previous play should be irrelevant.

It's pretty clearly a list of good goaltenders having similar years to Miller (along with a dig at Quick ). That's all I was going for, fellas.

In a situation where we are splitting hairs (Bob vs Henrik) I'm willing to give the award to the guy that has proven he's an all-time great.

If Bob were clearly the better goalie this season (and he hasn't shown that) then I wouldn't object to him winning it.

I think Henke gets more help from his team than Bob.

I mean, just look at http://rangers.nhl.com/club/roster.htm vs. http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/roster.htm. Rangers probably have 3, maybe 4 Dmen better than Columbus' #1

That is certainly something to take into consideration. It's not as easy as looking at names and ranking them though. Sabres fans of all people should understand how common it is for a team's defense to fall of the face of the earth for no apparent reason.

Not that it's really the case with either team. CBJ's team defense has improved tremendously alongside Bob's dramatic rise in #'s. They're much better than the Sabres (for whatever that may be worth).
