I know many will take it as an insult and it was likely meant that way, but I took it as a compliment. As a coach and even as a player, my goal going into every game is to impose my will on our opponents. To take them out of their comfort zone and make them play my style of hockey. When you can do that, you can hang with and usually beat any team you are facing.

Detroit and now Chicago (note: Scotty Bowman) both take the same approach and play very high skill, fast-paced game that constantly puts the pressure on their opponents to make the correct decisions with and without the puck and beats them when they do not.

In essence what Emery said was that we imposed our will on the Blackhawks today and took them out of their comfort zone. Sure they beat us 1-0, but they were frustrated all day long and weren't able to run up the score as they did against Detroit earlier this week.

Had the Predators been healthy upfront and not have been skating with an offense that resembles an expansion era franchise, they might have finished one of the multiple scoring opportunities they created and potentially won this game.

Don't read Emery's comment as a negative. Everyone wants to see if this team is really trying. If they are still listening to the coaching staff. Look no further than Emery's remark and Hornqvist's legendary diving save on the empty net...they are tuned in and fighting hard.

Its not that, its just that its the Devils. It just leaves me conflicted thats all. I wanna see Sully get another crack at the Cup, but at the same time the Devils missing the playoffs is like Christmas to me.

But my beef is my beef. I shouldnt have even brought it over here, Im sorry

I certainly hope Taylor Beck follows the Gabriel Bourque "late season call up surprise" path and continues to perform and improve, and doesnt go the Blake Geoffrion route and fizzle next year.

My hope is this, Mason for every game except Rinne for DET games. 2-4 is my expectation and hope to spoil Detroits playoff chances

Eklund did a "predict the rest of the games" thing and had us going 2-1-1, including a win over Chicago.

Yeah.....

Found this in the comments from above article

Quote:
When the Caps traded Cody Eakin and a pick for Mike Ribeiro and then drafted Filip Forsberg at the NHL’s annual entry draft last summer, they did so using the assets they’d acquired when they’d shipped Semyon Varlamov to Colorado a year earlier. Varlamov himself was selected a few years earlier with a pick the Caps had received from Nashville in return for Brendan Witt, on whom Washington spent a 1993 first-round pick that they’d been awarded as compensation when the St. Louis Blues signed Caps’ 1982 first-round pick, Restricted Free Agent Scott Stevens

It is if you believe that Poile & Trotz are the right people to take us the next step.

Injuries, slow starts from vets, a green blueline and a compressed schedule, a perfect storm for a bad season.

Haven't been able to catch a preds game in the last week or so, wondering how Watson has performed. I know he hasn't registered a point yet but from watching him in junior he's the type of guy that makes a difference in other areas of the ice. Has he done that at the NHL level yet, or still searching for his niche?
