Really hope he can come back, not sure how big of a possibility it is though.

I'm way more worried about our kids putting myself or Mrs. Timmy on the internet than vice versa.

Minny could use Roy more than Pommiville now, their center depth is not great.
i agree, what i didn't get is that the canucks were able to get roy on an expiring contract for very little, while the wild paid a superstar price for pomminville that gets them only one more full season before he hits ufa status

is one more year of pomminville worth the difference in assets between the two deals? especially if this means squat if the canucks can resign roy? this should be noted if gillis can get roy to resign..

Wild are going to be up tight against the $64m cap if they try and bring back Backstrom.

I'm starting to feel sorry for Carolina now. 5 goals on 18 shot. Goaltending is just destroying that team atm.

I think the Leafs are looking like a lock for the playoffs, sadly. Going to be 8 points up on NJ (with the same number of games played) who is 9th if the Leafs hang on against the Rags tonight.

Quality > Quantity. Their shot totals could be skewed if they take a lot of shots from the point or along the boards etc.

Carolina's D core is probably the worst in the NHL right now.

Yes, they have a couple injuries, but even healthy, in terms of actual defensive play I think they are the worst in the NHL. Plenty of puck movers but other than Gleason no one is particularly good in their own zone. Just a very poorly built D core.

But then I've been wondering for about five years at least now how Rutherford keeps his job. He makes many more poor decisions than good ones.

Hope him and McPhee are both canned this summer. Nieuwendyk should probably be gone too.

nah they'll just trade a 3rd round pick for andrew raycroft and sign him to a $1.5 million deal, seems like the thing to do

I'd be fine with it if CBC just gave us Jim Hughson.

do you think we will ever see a team win another cup in a span less than 10 years like Devils, Colorado, and Red wings in the mids 90s and early 2000s

Pretty hard to build a consistent contender in this league. Once you win it all, you have to overpay to keep your key players. Quick is a good recent example of that. However, Chicago, Anaheim, Boston, LA and Pittsburgh are recent winners that have shots at it this year.

Calgary beats Colorado tonight. They even fail at failing.

Absolutely, possible. I wouldn't be surprised if someone won 2 or 3 in a row, it just takes a bit of luck. Look at the recent winners and their chances this year. If I had to rate teams chances

high grade shot: Penguins, Boston, Chicago
medium grade shot: Kings, Anaheim

That the best 5 options for the cup and they are all winners from the last ten years with the best chances this year. So chances are you are going to see it happen this year.

Edit: Hammer - great minds think alike and fools never differ

It's unlikely we even get CBC for the first round, unless they pass on one of the Leafs or Canadiens. I don't think that will happen though.

Giguere's yapping about his teammates coasting again. I'm starting to hope Phoenix goes to Quebec just so Colorado can stay in our division, that's one messed-up team.

I do. We'd likely play right after Toronto, if we played on the same days that is.

CBC need a later game (6-7pm time slot), I actually feel that they may opt for the Canucks over the Canadiens in this case.

It will come down to our opponent, if we play SJ or LA, then we CBC will likely be inclined to pick the Canucks for the doubleheader. STL or Minny? Then we'll likely be on TSN.

Look on the bright side of things - a number of Leaffans hate Hughson. So give them what they don't want.
