It's usually at this stage where my blind optimism (basically to encourage myself to stay up till 2:30 AM to watch this) kicks in, but it isn't today. Any hope of making the Playoffs was lost on Saturday with that pathetic 2nd period effort against a team that was badly out of form.
On the bright side, Mason looked okay. Few shaky moments, but he didn't receive the support he needed from the offense. It was nice to see a decent save made on a breakaway for once.
i'd take Couts if it's really between the two Lavi's continued play of Briere despite his bad play, and the fact that this team isn't terrible just for 1 reason. It's not just on Lavi but it is time for a change.
If we have any regulars that are hurting we should shut them down for the year. Give the old " we want to make sure they are ready to go for next season" excuse. Bring some AHLers up to see what they can show us. In that time start the search for a new coach and by the end of the year you will have it all lined up. I only want Homer not here for one reason, to let this extremely young core grow together. Homer will be looking to make a splash in the off season. Bring in Hextall to be an assistant GM so he can help make these decisions and take over after Homer.
