They call him Chucky in the dressroom, it's not just here. Even if you don't like, if the other player call him Chucky it's probably going to stay.

He's playing with a little more swag, and that helps him tremendously. He was too timid. I'm hoping that he's gained enough confidence to start strutting his stuff a little more. He needs a little of that PK swag. If he can play with confidence, watch out.

I stumbled on this this night, Galchenyuk is, currently the youngest player in the entire league.

Laughton, Grigorenko and Matteau are all younger than him but are no longer with their NHL teams.

It's a stat we have to take into account, when we look at what he's been providing to the Habs this season. Makes it even more impressive.

I actually like Chucky as a nickname for AG27 .. am I the only one? Sure, Gally would have been better, but it belongs to Gallagher.

I watched Galchenyuk play as a rookie in the OHL and was totally impressed with his speed and skill. It was obvious to anyone who had a modicum of knowledge of the game that he had the potential to be a special player. Since I never thought that Montreal would be in a position to draft this kid I just put it in the back of my mind and thought that some team would be getting a potentially great player. Then, the team's collapse and the knee injury. I had some trepidation about the team drafting what could be damaged goods. My only re-assurance was the example of Marian Hossa who, similar to Galchenyuk, had knee surgery his draft year. My concerns were not alleviated watching Galchenyuk at the world juniors where his play was, at best, pedestrian. Even though he made the team out of training camp, I still didn't see the explosive skating that I had admired when he was a 16/17 year old in the OHL. I fully understand that it some times takes upwards of a year for a player to fully recover (both physically and mentally) from major knee surgery. Over the past few games we are starting to see glimpses of what the future may hold for this player. Whether it's his growing confidence on the ice or the continuing recovery from his injury it is becoming apparent that Galchenyuk has the ability to be a major force in this league.

I'm pretty sure Galchenyuk will change his number next year to 94.

Everyone's talking about the amazing rookie season Gallagher has put up (and he has, not trying to take anything away from the kid. Love him) but Chucky's only 1 point behind him. And he's two years younger.

He's good right now, but I cannot WAIT for the future with this kid.

Yep, only 7 pts away from Huberdeau despite the fact he has no PP time, Im pretty sure he is leading the race if Galchenyuk get some PP time...

Galchenyuk is second on the team when it comes to ES pts (19... Pacioretty is first with 22).

Galchenyuk is tied 2nd among rookies for ES points (19). Only Conacher has more (21).

Pretty freakin' awesome. He's been really stepping it up of late.

I want to know if there's ever been an 18 year old draftee who played so little in their draft year yet went on to play in the bigs the same year, let alone playing this well.

I don't quite understand these center debates. We have 3 decent second or third center... Then we have the clear heir apparent to the number 1 center slot (Galchenyuk). How the second or third line centers sort themselves out in the future will be dealt with then.

Galchenyuk will have to learn how to win some faceoffs if he wants to play center, he is aweful in that part of the game..
