Put on halpern to win the freakin faceoff and put Ryder galchenyuk Eller markov subban.Merci bonsoir. Y'e ou le mérite la dedans? Caliss

That DD line is driving me nuts horrible in their zone and cannot bank a goal to save their sorry ass. Their salary should be retained for such a heartless performance.
Wrong night to be getting on people for faceoffs. Only Eller and Galchenyuk were below 50%, and everyone else was well above Plekanec at 68%, Halpern at 78%, Desharnais at 68%, and Moen won all of his [probably 1 or 2]).

I'm all for deserved criticism, but do some fact-checking first, my friend.

Some positives from tonight:
1)Price looks like he's getting close to his top form. (cue haters, I don't care about what you're going to say)
2)Galchenyuk and Eller are clicking and their great game (along with Prust) should not be forgotten because we lost
3)We kept getting chances and didn't go away too quietly despite being down.
4)Bourque looked pretty good for his first game in months.

There were only two good things to that game: faceoffs and the last ~30 seconds or so.

Prust has surprisingly high hockey IQ. He actually does a lot of the good things Darche did, but with speed and toughness.

Eller and Galchenyuk should call Sidney Crosby and see what he did in the offseason to improve his faceoff skills. Sid has been an absolute beast in the dot this season.

Beaulieu is not ready for the NHL, that much was painfully clear tonight and in his previous games. Bring up Tinordi or dress Kaberle.

If eller puts as much work into his faceoffs and making his release quicker as he put into becoming Danish Arnold, we'll be in for a treat.

wasn't sure what was going on...but I thought I saw subban beaulieu paired together near the end of the 3rd.

I think they might go with markov/gorges and try them as a shutdown pair. maybe I'm just hopeful...but that d had a hard time generating much, and our breakout wasn't where it usually is. ovy's line was pretty dominate against subban/gorges.

that's why emelin's presence is severely missed, tonight anyways, was a guy playing top line minutes, alongside markov, who was extremely physical and good at it. that's a hard combo to find.

He played good... He's not a stud defensively but he's good enough in the transition game and in the offensive zone. Give him time.

It has to be Tinordi as you wish to have a little physicality even if Tinordi will be shy in that department till he gains more confidence.

His previous games were great, tonight wasn't his best night. I think he needs to fill out his frame, he gets pushed off easily by the opposition's forwards.

Uh... the reason why WASH had 3 goals tonight was because our D-men screwed Price over... plain and simple.

Price himself was perfect and looked incredible tonight.

Anyway I really don't understand all that negativity, we played a below average game but also had some awful luck. Time to stop reading more into it than that.
Yep. That fluke goal was hard to take.

But then again, we had one of those to beat Boston. Luck of the puck since they do sometimes make strange bounces.

But hell, a loss like this gives a lot of people time to blow some steam off at DD. It must be strangely therapeutic.

I thought Beaulieu was more good than bad, but he definitely floats out there when things aren't going right for him. Typical problem for inexperienced PMDs, he still looks better out there than I expected him to. He's not completely lost defensively despite his reputation.

See I didn't think Beaulieu played bad at all tonight... He created a great 2 on 1 and then got back into the play and then had that assist on Eller's goal. Tinordi is big, but he doesn't play big at the NHL level just yet. At least Beaulieu brings offense.

Eller-Galchenyuk are so hungry for goal almost every shifts. The should play way more.

Also, I think in the last 2 months Eller>>>>>>>>>Desharnais. Why not try Eller on the PP from time to time. It rages me to see our third line drawing a penalty after a 20 seconds shift but have to go back to the bench to see DD's line playing the 1st wave PP.

Can't win em all.

As every game goes by, I start to love Galchenyuk and Eller more and more. Really think they deserve more ice time.

I don't think the sole reason of the lost is on Price, he did have a solid first and a good game overall. But at the same time, Neuvirth just outplayed him tonight. He stopped a lot of screened shots and had a great control of his rebounds. So instead of bashing Price, I'll praise the opposition's goalie.
