If I was coach, I would've sent Halpern out for that final face-off. Oh well, Caps are on a roll, and they showed why. Let's get back to winning on Thursday and save the best for Saturday's visit to the AC centre.

Tonight's reffing is what we're gonna get in the play-offs, so better get used to it.

My dislike for Desharnais grows with every game. He's invisible out there. He's only good on the power play and even at that Eller can take his place easily.

Do you want to blow off some steam on Eller for not scoring 3 ?

But you're right... Fluke goals go both ways.

Well, I actually hope this team gets some real adversity. They'd be booted out of the playoffs fast if they don't get used to playoff reffing and finishing teams that are hot. Because none of the teams we face would be cakewalks if the playoffs started today. In particular, the Isles really have had our number this season and we very well could be facing them in the first round.

Benching DD would be a real message sender. Only problem is that the media would rage. Other than that, it shows that you have to be accountable, even when you're in 2nd and the season is almost over. Wouldn't mind a one game healthy scratch for DD at all.

well that game was far from our best but hey we cant win em all. lets look at some positives:

Galchenyuk - heating up just in time for the play offs and playing just awesome!
Eller - also looking pretty damn awesome
Nate- hey he needs to learn some more defence but that kid is a hell of a talent.. cant wait to see him develop over the next couple years
Prust - well he just kicks ass
the come back attempt - so close..

Price: wasnt his best game. and yes hes had a few bad ones, but who doesnt? hell look how quick, lundqvist, schnieder, started the year.. bad games happen to even the best goalies. people need to stop over reacting about price every freaking game FFS... And any one who says we should trade him is clearly just looking for attention.. and a bit of Dumb ass!

now the negative... well there is enough downers on this site to take care of that for me so i'm just gonna leave it at that and stay positive..

time to regroup guys and come back strong.. just like you have all year long
GO HABS GO!

I don't think the media would rage. They might understand.

The media doesn't run the team, as much as they'd like to think they do. How can you justify raging when one player has clearly been outplaying the other, so you bench the underperforming player?

DD just hasn't played well since his extension. I hate "hating" on players for my team, and I've been really quiet on the DD front but tonight, after Lars scores both goals in the game, HOW do you put DD out there when we need a goal in the last minute? I just don't understand.

I hope they would, but you know someone would whine about it. Regardless, DD should at least have his line broken up. It's not just that it's not working, but it's the TOI. They're getting way too much for how they are playing.

Is it the moment now to say that I was amongst the few who had some problems with DD's contract? Is it bad timing?

Absolutely awful game by DD and Patches...Gio played pretty bad too. Pleks line did do a good job of shutting down Ovy but the usual offensive prowess wasn't present tonight. Price played well, as did Eller and Galchenyuk. When will Therrien realize to split up the DD line and make use of our good players. Frustrating beyond end when DD and Patches are on the ice.

A good chunk of them think DD is our 1st line center. It would be a rage fest.

The sooner Desharnais is put in purely an exploitation role, the better.

Exactly, give him just 1 game... the medias are in love with MT right now so its not a problem.

same with Gio on the third....

Nail on the head my friend. So frustrating to not reward our most dangerous players. DD needs to be scratched, demoted or moved to the wing.

This might be a good idea, I've heard numerous injured players say how they benefited form watching the game from on high. One game to refocus might be just what the Dr. ordered.

Desharnais is god awful.

4 seconds left? Better fondle my incredibly stupid contract in my pocket.

Thanks, I'm glad we see it the same way! See even your third option, moved to the wing, would be alright for DD. Bump Galchenyuk up in his spot and move him to the wing on one of the lower lines, even for 1 game, just to say "Pick it up, buddy."

Pleks line was there but didn't do much either...definitely not giving them a pass just because DD/Patches did bad. The only team that gets a pass from criticism is the 3rd and 4th line

I Bergie. Used to hate him growing up (when asked what my dream was in my high school year-end book, I replied 'have Michel Bergeron choke on tires' because he was coaching the Nords AND doing Uniroyal TV ads at the time... Tiger Paw, get it?), but he's gold (albeit erratic) on TV and radio.

J'aime le Tigre! Who'd have thunk it?
