A game where Dougie scores and the Bruins don't lose? I don't think that's possible.

If Soderberg coming, being able to clinch a playoff spot and taking over first place in the division doesn't motivate them I don't know what will.

If my math is correct you are right. As of last night a team would need 60 pts to clinch a spot in the east. I'm assuming that will go down to 58 after tonight depending on the schedule. So neither the Habs or B's can/will clinch after tonight's round of games.

The only reason the Bruins can't clinch tonight are the Jets.
They trail us by 12 points (possibly 14 points after tonight's game) and they have to play 7 more games.
Unlike the Devils who couldn't catch up to us anymore if we win in regulation today (they'd trail by 16 points with 8 more games to go and they couldn't get more ROW than us), the Jets would have more ROW if they won all 7 games and we lost all 7 games.

But oh well, does it actually matter when we clinch? We will make the playoffs anyway. It's all about the division or maybe even the conference.

This is the network that labelled a Chicago/Avalanche game a rivalry. Maybe they mistake the word rivalry for "game."

Hm. I'm much more nervous about Bartkowski in the playoffs than Mr. Hamilton. Bart makes a lot of bone-headed rookie plays that lead directly to goals. If he doesn't break that habit I don't even want him in the post-season lineup.

This might be a tough game. Obviously the Devils are fighting to try and scrape into that 8th spot. I'm hoping the most unlikely dynamic duo in ages (Nose-Face and Jaromir) continues their unstoppable cycling and scoring.

Another example of how we see games differently as fans which is AOK. An area of Bart`s game that I worry about with DH`s is that Bart`s physical positioning in the D zone, and how he uses his body as leverage, at this stage, watching on TV mind you, is stronger. He has been consistently better at boxing players out etc...DH is still not as strong as he will be

Now, talk to me this time next season, I`ll wager we see a bigger, stronger more confident DH, and one that will take that puck up ice without any hesitation too which is going to be a blast to watch

Something like 3 out of the next 10games are against teams in the playoff picture right now. Seems like a good thing, except those 7 games are probably vs teams that will be fighting for their lives

Which "should" also be good. I`d rather this team play others fighting for a playoff spot than a loose bunch with nothing to lose. If anything, this team lets far too many inferior teams off the hook, of course, they`ve done that with equally solid teams too this year.

B`s take this one in a rare showing of offensive output against a stingy Devs team 4-1

This is the best news possible.

I would love for Bergeron to be back in time for the playoffs. This team misses him so badly. It's kind of funny because Bergeron's game is so subtle that you don't realize all the good things he does until he isn't there to do them.

Gut feeling is unless Kovy comes back quickly the Devils will fall out of the race.

Last time I saw Jagr in person was freakin 1993... Can't wait.

I agree.

Without Kovalchuk in the lineup, Elias has struggled....and I still can't understand why Clarkson hasn't done much since that amazing start.

This could be another snoozer...1-0 affair, the puck bounces in off of Marchand's nose instead of Jagr's skate this time. Two points.

Your going to the game tonight?

Guess we can give a mod or two the night off from the GDT then.

Has there been any discussion around why Redden isn't getting a look over Bartkowski?

I'll take it. Just let me know what period that goal happens in.

Got a gut feeling the power play breaks out tonight; thought they have looked pretty good since Jagr arrived despite the scoring not coming.

Would like to see Soderberg arrive via zip line to start the game; but I guess that will probably have to wait until their next home game!

I was at that game and it was strange... Marty came back and the arena was hopping, fans were feeling good.... then Kovy got injured... The air went out of the place. They can't catch a break.
Awesome place to watch a game though.
