He was an emergency call-up that game so he was sent right back to Adirondack after the game.

With the Phantoms. He's spent most of the season splitting time with Scott Munroe. He may be a solid backup in the next few years but not much more.

Taylor Leier picked up a goal tonight in a 3-1 win. Portland's now up 3-0 in the series.

Barrie beat oshawa to take the series 4-0 can Scott Laughton play for the AHL team? Oshawa was a different team they looked lost without Laughton.

Is Laughton old enough for the AHL?

You dont need to be old enough to play on an ATO. Laughton can play with the Phantoms the rest of the season. Next season he can only play on the Flyers or in the OHL.

He may need to go back to the OHL to learn some discipline. For such a smart player, what he did was really dumb.

Has there been any actual upside shown from Fredric Larsson or Vasiliev?

I know Vasiliev was supposed to go higher but dropped due to injuries and then was supposed to go to the USHL but for some reason didn't

I would send him back next year, but not for that reason.

No idea about Larsson but Vasilyev played 16 games in the KHL (5 in Nadezhda Cup tournament) where he had 1g and 1a and was a minus 4 w/ 6 pims

I think he was on the team mainly cause of injuries but he's only 18 so that's pretty good. Have no idea what next year holds for him (KHL, back to MHL or to USHL). I really wish we could get some coverage on these two though.

They are defensive defensemen. It is going to be hard to hear anything about them.

Yeah they have a shot but it's going to be tough this year. I'm thinking its Portland out of the WHL, London or Plymouth out of the OHL, and Halifax out of the Q. I think this Memorial Cup is going to be a good one this year.

Halifax is by far the favourite from the Q, but I'm still pulling for my local boys in Blainville-Boisbriand to continue their great play and maybe pull off an upset.

Yes this really looks like the Cup run will be exciting. There is some really good talent to look at and hopefully some young Flyers are on those teams.

Yeah anythings possible. Lappy and Briere are part owners of that team right?

Yeah last years tournament was pretty disappointing. Saint John and Edmonton didn't even show up. The final two games were pretty good though.

Yes, they are, along with Jean-Sebastien Gigučre and ex-NHLer Joel Bouchard. This group owns about 30% of the team.

I think a player like Larsson would benefit to play here in NA than where he is currently playing. Now don't quote me but I THOUGHT I read somewhere that Larsson might be coming over next season. Don't know where I read it but I remember some of us discussing it before. Maybe it was because he showed up to the prospect camp when usually European players dont do that the year that are drafted.

The Flyers pushed him hard to come over for this year but he wanted to finish high school there and felt like he wasn't ready for it. He said he would reevaluate it again this summer with management.

He's still playing in an under 20 league for his club team so it's going to be tough to have a future with the Flyers if he isn't willing to come over for next year.

With Laughton reporting, our AHL squad got alittle better. Time to see what he and Cousins can do with 6 games left. Well thats if Murray actually plays Laughton.

The Flyers always seem to strike out on foreign players. Detroit can get Europeans to come in the AHL with ease; the Flyers not so much. I do hope the move to Allentown will help. Allentown is no metropolis but is a step up from Adirondack. Plus it is close to both Philly and New York. Some might think that doesn't matter, but the town a team plays in is very important when convincing foreign born players to give up European league money.

I would assume they would put him in the CHL next year if he's willing to come over. No sense in handing him a contract now when he's not even playing for the clubs pro team.

While the CHL is an under 20 league also it's hands down the best junior league in the world and really holds no comparison to the Swedish under 20 league.

If Larsson plays in the CHL next season, will the Flyers have to decide to sign him at the end of the year? Or will they still have 4 years since he started overseas?
