Giroux is definitely overthinking, and I remember him doing this before, too. It'll settle, I'm not concerned. Was it last year he got trigger shy around the all-star break? Maybe two years ago, I forget. But he's prone to a funk of trying too hard.

I don't post here that often (that's an understatement) and just check in and read opinions once in a while but I made this for my group of fan friends and figured you guys might appreciate it and think this is funny (or not). It originated from a discussion between Jules801 and I after the NYR game on Tuesday. That being said, I like Giroux and I am sure he will get over the slump hump soon!

The message to them was this:

With our Captain being relatively quiet since Buffalo, it's time for a new game....Where's Claudo!

That 40 year old is Jaromir freaking Jagr...

I would say its more of our team as a whole being horrible right now. Voracek has easily been our worst forward so far. I don't think there's a game where you can say he had a good game so far. As for giroux I think losing hartnell and having to get used to 2 new line mates is hurting him right now. He needs to settle down and stop trying to do too much.

Exactly. You can't hold him to the standard of what may have very well been a career year last season. Realistically he will probably not be a PPG player for the next 5-7 years,

Well, I also don't know what everyone's expecting from Giroux. Sure, he's better than he's showing right now, but he's not as elite as last year's numbers would suggest. He's nowhere near the likes of Malkin and Crosby, not even Toews, Thornton etc. So he's not going to get it done alone, he's just not that good, and, yeah, he's definitely missing better players to play with.

We are now without several of the team's best players due to injuries.... And, we'll have to see if Bryz starts tonight....

They better get on the phone this morning and get Jagr back from dallas

Try and at least get some sort of team that resembles what they did last year

Interesting comment...

Does this team miss Jaromir Jagr?

“Doesn’t make any sense to look back on that,” Holmgren replied. “Obviously, he was a big benefit to Claude and Scotty last year. Sometimes you have to move on.

“We were not in a situation last summer to do anything at that time. Whether we would have later, I still don’t know. But I have moved on from that.”

Jeff Carter has 8 points in 14 games
Jake Voracek has 7 points in his last 2 games.

Giroux also has 8 points in 5 games. Is Jagr back?

I just hope some of the line shuffling is over. Please keep Voracek with Giroux. I though he was the guy best suited to jump into Jagr's spot and he had to wait while Lavi tried just about every other player there. Stable line mates helps all great players and G is one of the league's best. Great to see him coming on.

I just want to confess my love for Voracek. Guy's finally playing with some swagger in the offensive zone. Before he would always be Kovalchuk through the neutral zone, then turn into a plug in the offensive zone. Now he's attacking the net, using his creativity, using his size, speed, everything. I'm a happy boy. Always nice watching someone figure it out. Especially when it makes that Carter trade even sweeter.

G was great without Jagr. And jake was a 50 pt player before being in the same team as Jagr and for the 1 season he was on the team.

After this horrendous season - I'm still waiting to see if they can pull it together with some consistency. There's no excuse for the way they have played up until the recent islanders game.

Vorachek looks 20x better then he did at the beginning of the season, every time he has the puck something good is created from it.

I'm just hoping it was rust being shaken off.

We are moving backwards by not making the playoffs....another miscalc by Holmgren who had a bad offseason IMO. Luckily Voracek has forged his own path..

No they are suffering a puck moving defenseman withdraw. No mez(was never healthy this year), No pronger, no Carle. There's your answer to the offense woes of this team at 5 on 5. You can see on the powerplay, when G or Voracek are responsible to for running the offense, our team is in the top 3. This team badly needs an offensive D-man.

I think homer would agree he had a bad offseason. Actually the worst I have seen since the last lockout. We did almost the same exact thing with very similar results. I bet you next season you will see a an improved lineup.

The one thing I will say about Homer is that he is not scared to make moves and spend money to improve the team. That's why we're always competitive.

G is not necessarily missing Jagr nor a puck moving D man. He is having an off year even strength and Hartnell is having an atrocious year even strength. It took Voracek to get him going, but he is still not playing with the swagger he had last season.

It would be idiotic to sign Jagr this offseason to "get him going".

I thinks it's pretty clear at this point that Voracek is suffering from jagr withdrawl . 39 pts in 39 games (11 pts shy of his career high and a goal away from his career high of 18). Jagr would've helped this team and maybe they'd be in a playoff position seeing as though the team is 5 pts out of 8th but they would still suck.

Yeah Voracek isn't but Jagr def was important to Hartnell and G as Holmgren admits. Time to move on though..but again a miscalc on the GM's part.
