Canucks charged to the finals missing malholtra, Samuelson and Kesler on one leg.

Anything is possible. Higgins should be ok come playoff time.

I remember when everyone on here said we had no chance after manny got injured.

New York R: Staal
St. Louis: Halak
Vancouver: Booth, Kesler. And Chicago's was much worse, missing Sharp and Hossa for long stretches in addition to Bolland.

When playoff time comes around most of the above list will be back. The Canucks aren't screwed missing two top 6 forwards and one defenseman, the iced roster will still be good. But it becomes a situation where the team cannot afford even one more injury (unless I guess it's to a goalie).

Basically, if everyone is a bit late and we have to play the first round without those guys, we will still have a better than 50-50 shot against San Jose, Detroit or Minnesota. I would give the nod to any other opponent we might have to face in the West. When healthy, we are a toss-up or better against any team in the league except perhaps Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago and L.A., each of whom I would narrowly favour (but by no means are we huge underdogs there).

If at full strength the only two teams favoured are Chicago and Pittsburgh. Just because we lost to the other two with injuries doesn't mean we are worse, it's even if anything. Neither of the first two has our goaltending either so it would be tight

I base all my predictions as to who would win a series on fenwick close. Not only is this the best indicator of future record, but because of playing style in the playoffs it becomes an even better indicator there. The Kings are insane in that department, blowing away everyone else in the NHL. Quick only needs to be an average starter for them to be better than 50% to beat everyone else in the league - including Pittsburgh. It seems to me the main issue is that it would take an unbelievable run of luck to go through two consecutive playoff years with no major injuries, but there's no rational basis for suggesting that they won't do so.

The Bruins are similar, 55% FClose, but also, just watch that team. It is downright intimidating. It seems like they only let in goals that are a) lucky or b) come when they're already ahead multiple goals. Their power plays drawn to surrendered are severely underwater, which is a problem that is significantly lessened when the postseason comes around and everyone swallows their whistles. The team is every bit as well built for the postseason as it ever has been; in fact, given that Marchand and Seguin are significantly better players than they were two years ago, my view would be that they're actually a better team than they were when they won the cup (provided Rask plays as he has been playing).

In reality, I think the team that is closest to falling off that list is probably Chicago, as their record was driven by a very high PDO and unsustainable goaltending numbers. The Hawks are much close to a coin toss than the B's or Kings.

may be asking a lot, but if you could post any update to timeline/injury as it progresses, would totally appreciate it.

Does Chris Tanev's Brother have an account on here?

Well he's got 20-odd days to heal up....let's hope Hansen has a minor injury.

Is Chiggs what people call him or is it just short hand for posting quickly?
