This bugged me to no end. Every time, NHL standings link would be division by default. Doesn't even make much sense in current format. Glad they changed it last week to conference (which I think is only because playoffs are near).

Btw, the person who tweeted is Puck Daddy from Yahoo!

You guys realize this happens every year a couple weeks before playoffs right? At the start of next season it will default back to divisional. This isn't a permanent change.

There's no reason to "settle" for 2 or 3 points out of 4. We're not the Leafs of old.

We're the better team. No excuses. We need to win.

I would suggest that an internet poster believing they know more than a Stanley Cup winning NHL coach about who to play would be a more apt example of arrogance.

I think they did realize this. Hence...

Go Leafs Go!

I'm saying 4-1 Leafs and Grabo with 2 goals.

I find it funny that people think that Gary Bettman has control over the NHL Officials Association. The man isn't the God of the NHL.

Komorov should be on the 4th line, and Frattin has sat enough. I highly doubt Hamilton will bring much today and what he specializes in, can be replaced by the guys we have.
So you would have Frattin, a winger, centre the 4th line? That makes SO much sense.

If we win, we can throw a wrench into the Rangers playoff hopes. We've never got to play spoiler from the top half of the standings... well not for a while anyway

Although I don't want NJ to catch them, so we need a Bruins and Leafs win tonight for everything to go perfect. We'd be put against Montreal if that happens.

LOL...ya, in my perfect world, the Rags and Devils miss, the Isles and Jets get in.

Best case scenario:

-Leafs win
-Boston win, and keeps winning
-Habs keep losing

Sets up a Leafs (4) vs. Habs (5) first round matchup. Games 1 and 2 in Toronto, which hasn't seen playoff hockey in 9 years, against our mortal enemy. The crowd at the ACC, the entire city will be so amped up that those smurfs will begin ******** bricks.

WOOOOOOO!

I'm in general fine with RC lineup decisions... Except his "attachement" to Holtzer and Kostka in the past; and his decision to play Orr (he is hard working guy, plz don't get me wrong) with Kadri in close games in 3rd period.

No doubt. Leafs/Habs is the dream scenario. 4th seed would just be icing on the cake.

the likelihood of us catching Montreal is about the likelihood of the Devils passing us... it's not going to happen. I think we can win 4 games against Montreal though. Series can go either way.

edit: Boston plays two teams fighting for their playoff lives the next 2 nights. The Devils tonight, the Islanders tommorow. Lets go Bruins! Seriously get away from 4th.

The difference is, after Boston wins tonight, Montreal will be directly ahead of us. New Jersey on the other hand has to pass 4 teams to pass us, which is what makes it highly unlikely.

Canucks fan here (yeah, I know ...). I'm cheering hard for the Leafs tonight. It would be great to slam the Rangers and at the same time give a boost to the Jets. The more Canadian teams in the playoffs, the better.

I recognize that the playoff spot isn't mathematically clinched, but the Leafs look like a lock. I'm happy for all my Toronto friends, getting to watch their team in the playoffs after too long a drought. What a great season.

Montreal would have to go like 2-7 and the leafs would need to win 66 percent of there games (6-3) for it to be a possibility, and with how consistent Montreal has been all year I don't see this as realistic at all.

I would love to play the Habs because it would be epic.

but I see the bruins as the bigger obstacle. would love to beat them in seven games.

I think this team can beat the Bruins. You want to send Chara out to shutdown the Kessel line? Well then I'd like to introduce you to the Kadri/Lupul line.

Would love to beat the Bruins with Kessel scoring a series winning OT goal

I'd still rather play Montreal because the atmosphere is just going to be surreal! It can't be replicated.

We're probably not the better team, we are just playing better. I would love to win this game to push the Rags further behind us.
