galchenyuk played amazing with yakupov in sarnia.

what would it take to get yakupov to montreal?

We'd want Subban. Which won't happen.

The Oilers need to get bigger, and need an upgrade on d. Outside of Subban Montreal can't help in a meaningful way.

There's no way that they'd want to rekindle the magic of the WJCs by rejoining Eberle and Subban for magic on a nightly basis.

I think he meant as an LA Kings fan he doesn't want Subban in EDM. Anyway this won't happen, this thread is going nowhere.

The only piece we'd want is Subban. I am one of the few who is willing to entertain trade proposals for the kids (minus Hall and probably RNH), but it needs to be something that will help us right away and in the future, so Subban or nothing.

Do you know anything about "that tight knit group in Etown"?

So you would be willing to trade your 19 year old unproven rookie for a 23 year old franchise D who is putting up PPG and getting serious Norris consideration? Wow.

I wouldn't trade Subban 1 for 1 for anyone on the Oilers.

A reply from many previous oilers threads:

If you want our player, you will have to pay a lot. If the price is not of your liking, then forget about it.

Damn, I should have been more condescending.

put yourself in tambo's sho-- wait no, an oilers fan's shoes, what else do you think would be a good return for last year's first overall pick?

to make the exercise more entertaining, try to think of the oilers' needs and try to fill them with pieces from montreal's roster and/or the farm team.

go!

I don't understand this comment. What is that going to accomplish? Last time I checked, the Habs are the superior team and in line to make the playoffs with a possible division title.

Why would we trade our first overall selection who might end up a future superstar, unless it fills our biggest hole? I don't recall anyone saying Montreal should agree to that trade, but Edmonton doesn't need to trade their valuable pieces for pennies on the dollar or pieces that don't fit our team.

Montreal would not trade Subban for Yakupov. Nor would they think about Price. The name I would bring up from an oilers point of view in perhaps a package deal both ways would be Pacioretty.

And don't mind the Oiler fans blasting Subban for his character, most of them ignore the fact we have the worst captain in the league and no real leadership except for maybe a 20 year old Hall.

You should propose a trade if you are going to make a thread, since the thread is already getting out of hand.

And just to clarify, not all Oiler fans think Yak has enough value to land Subban.

Yeah, who needs a high end offensive defenseman who can hit like a truck and play well in all situations. The Oilers don't need any of those.
Oh, i guess you're one of those people who believes the sensationalistic nonsense that the media spews about Subban being a locker room cancer. That cancer sure has hurt the Canadiens this year, hasn't he?
