I'm speaking from a strictly strategical situation- you can't afford to take risks with teams you know you can win against.

but heck my specialty is numbers. i can't speak from experience.
Nabokov should be fine for both of these games. He had 2 days off before the Philly game, and if he plays against both Boston and the Rags that would still only be 5 starts over a 12 day span.

The way the schedule breaks right now, the Isles are playing Sat, Tue, Thu until the last game of the season. I think Nabokov starts every game until the final Thu/Fri. He can handle 3 starts every 7 days. More and I would be concerned.

Wow, it's been a long time since teams rested their #1 goalies for games against the Isles.

Canucks fan here, but the Isles have always been my #2 team, ever since the Ziggy Palffy days (was obsessed with the guy when I was a kid)

Really rooting for you guys. Love JT, and love seeing your lot back in the thick of it. Make the dance, and anything can happen. 1982 rematch, anyone?

So we are getting close to the Rag$ in goal differential now. If Rag$ lose and Isles win tomorrow, will be at most 3 goals apart. If we could somehow rout them on Saturday, we will tie them for the 2nd tiebreaker(head to head points) and then possibly overtake them in the third tie breaker(goal differential). However, if the Rag$ lose tonight and we beat Boston and then the Rag$ Saturday, we probably aren't even worrying about the tie breaker.

In all honesty if I had to pick one game as it stands today that looks like it might effect our playoff chances the most it would be the Winnipeg game
They are all important, but the Rangers game is really the only 4 point game left for us. Maybe Wiinipeg, still, but they have kind of been in freefall so with any luck, by then that won't be as important of a game.

A win on Saturday will do a ton to solidify a spot and put us legit contention for 6th or 7th, while a loss puts us back to fighting for 8th. IMO, it will likely be the biggest game of the season. Though things could change.

We are gonna play one of Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa - in the first round.....I think we have a shot at making the second round, but I am gonna stop and not get ahead of myself.

Mod's don't get mad at me. You can remove or put this wherever you think it belongs. I live in CT, and really wanted to make it to the game on Saturday. Can't find tix under $125 anywhere. Would really appreciate it if someone knows where I can look or if someone knows someone selling tix for cheaper.....PM if anyone has any insight for me so this thread can stay on topic. Sorry again....

We have no chance meeting Toronto or Ottawa in the first round of the playoffs. As for Montreal we could hypothetically play them depending on where they finish(either 5th or 7th)

This is a little OT and maybe a little overzealous but....
Does anyone have any idea if you're able to reserve tickets for the first round or if they don't even go on sale until the team clinches a spot?

I'm not sure I think you may only be able to reserve a full round if ur a season tix holder, not sure because I know I can reserve a spot as a tix holder, call the isles and ask

I'd say we'll be seeing JJ or Reasoner, most likely JJ. We won't be seeing Lee again unless it's clear we're making the playoffs I'm sure (barring injury of course). He's not defensively responsible enough right now.

I looked quickly for you and can't seem to find anything either. $125 is the going rate on stubhub for the worst seats. It's the first big Isles Rags game in a long while so it's not too outrageous under the circumstances.

Isles would need 53 points to clinch at least 7th spot.

schedule

Isles
-Bruins surpass Isles in every aspect. A single point would take miracle let alone 2.
-Rags are better than the isles talent-wise (on paper at least). Playing a full 60 minutes is a must.
-Hurricanes have been an unfavorable opponent. Do not underestimate the team or the 0-2 record will become 0-3.

good showings against remaining teams.

maximum number of projected wins - 5

Rags
- only losing record is to the panthers. Leafs and devils have a chance at beating them.

maximum number of projected wins- 5

Devils
-depends on how soon kovy gets back and if Brouduer can retain his peak form down the stretch. Northeast teams always to be tough opponents.
maximum number of projected wins- 5

Flyers
- every game is a must and there is no margin for error especially in the net.
maximum number of project wins- 5. not enough if above results hold true

Jets
- fewest games to go. Half against division rivals. need to win all to have a realistic shot. Maximum Projected wins- 5.

Sabres
Points are in large demand but short supply given the teams they're playing. Maximum number of projected wins- 4

final assessment
- win against the teams behind you. .
Rest Nabby for the game against the Rags (i.e. play Poulin against Boston). Don't skip up against the Hurricanes again.

Games vs Rags and Canes may very well be the deciding factor. Get 3 out of 4 and you very well be in. Fail to get any and you might very well fall short
I'll make this part easy for you...Nabby won't be resting for the remainder of the season UNLESS the last game of the season we can't improve or lose our playoff position....He's played all but what5-6 games this year? At the most important part of the year he's on the bench? No way, I'd go out on a limb and say the reason we are 7-1-1 over the last 9 games has more to do with Nabby then any other 1 person on the team. Ride him til he bucks now

Mostly self-inflicted wounds though. Isles can't be scared of the Bruins. Outworking them is a must

More than half when you consider we helped subsidize Jagr and Redden with the Tom Thomas cap favour.

When we play them in the 2nd round, Matty Marts better punch someone.
