So I am for one glad we are paying $5.5M to a elite third liner... how much worse would this team be without Horcoff I wonder... I bet they would do something really crazy like not win games while in a playoff hunt... good thing we have him or things would be much worse...he motivates this team to play its best right down the lineup...

Hard one to take, kids are still developing though. Patience please fellow fans, and how about Taylor Hall, what passion with that two handed slash. Messier esque.

My friends & I lived the early years. I know what it takes to make a championship team. It needs a Mark Messier.

I too saw Messier on the ice tonight - the two-handed slash to the leg for payback because of the hard, clean hit brought back warm memories. If I see an elbow to the head the next time someone hits Hall hard - I'm sold...

Dude, they haven't been trying to tank. They are incompetent. They were trying to win before the rebuild "officially" started and the results were the same. They don't have a ****ing clue.

What bothers me most is we lost to a team that can't even sell out free tickets.

Not the smartest thing to do is go into a team's thread when they're season is over right after another ****** game and expect a civil conversation.

7 years without playoffs. Longest stretch in the league once the Leafs lock up their spot.

No one has the right to preach patience at this point. I ran out of patience a season ago after the Oilers finished 30th, 30th and 29th.

You really expect anyone to believe this? You troll Oiler threads on the main board and trash Hall incessantly. Go away.

Apparently. I saw a few Devil fans hoping his hit on Marchand tonight was bad enough to get him suspended for the season.

I enjoyed watching the women's iihf canada USA game, watching players who gave it their all was a treat. Whenever I watch the oilers I just get mad.

I didn't see "Messier" in Hall tonight I saw a young player who is already beyond fed up with losing. He's probably regretting that 6 year contract right about now.

Last time I saw the Oilers in the playoff was in grade 11, when I was 16. Now I'm 23. How can the same management be here after 7 years?

He might have been an adequate 3rd line center 3 or 4 years ago, but the "elite" tag people added on that role was always a delusional fanboy assessment by people who remember the player who took a puck to the face nearly a decade ago against Detroit. Not what he actually has been for the duration of his contract - lazy and apathetic outside of 5 - 10 games a year.

Now he's a straight up 4th liner, and not a very good one at that.

Seems like I did myself a favour in not watching this one.

Pretty pathetic that seemingly year after year I can only stomach around the first half of the season before reaching this apathetic state that I've gotten used to. Sigh. Onto the next season I guess.

**** me.
