Start small scale. Write articles about local sports, and send them to local papers. Maybe you'll have to write about sports you aren't too interested in, but just keep at it.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Do you ever get paid for writing for your local papers?

well, I don't write, but I know someone who does.

You can get paid a little bit, but at first it definitely would not be a way to make a living. If you're good enough, and stick with it, however, it could be a good source of income.

Writting is like photograhy. Lots of people love the romantic notion of doing it for a living but in actualy fact so few actually make enough to live a decent life style. As mentioned start small with local papers you might not even be able to start with sports write and submit anything and everything. Once you have a decent portfolio then you can try for bigger and better things.

I'm a writer, but I don't write about sports. And, btw, in french, most sport writers don't know how to write Just look at the rds web page. Everyday I find new gramatical or spelling errors... But yeah, for anyone who wants to be a writer, all you need is to know the right people and how to use the spellcheck on word.
