I don't see it TBH, I see a career AHLer when I see Cornet play.

Yep, quite possibly a minor leaguer. But I was thinking the "tweener" exceptions like Darren Helm, Matt D'Agostini, Matt Belesky, etc.

Certainly a decent call-up option, if nothing else.

He got called up once last year. Managed 1 assist in two games playing with Eberle and, I think Gagner.... can't remember. For the most part he was pretty quiet, didn't really notice him on the ice.

Cornet is like Alex Giroux

He will be a stud in the minors, win some Calder cups, but he's too poor of a skater to be a regular in the NHL as a checker.

He will never put up Giroux-esque numbers. He will never go a season at a ppg or over like Giroux IMO. He's a good AHLer, but a far cry from a great AHLer.

Maybe--but with the likes of Lander, Pitlick, Martindale, Hamilton and Rajala already on the AHL team, with Kessy and Ewanyk joining next year, I am not sure if there is much space for Cornet there.

Man, the Barons are a much better team without the NHLers dispsy doodling all over the ice.

They're up 4-1 on Houston with about 5 minutes to play. They've outshot Houston 37-21.

It's nice to see OKC in a playoff spot. To what would you attribute the team's success as of late?

Sticking to the system, and everybody playing their roles respectively and have all bought. Danis has also played great since returning. They are peaking at the right time, and things have came together. They have been relentless, routinely overcoming 2-3 goal deficits during this run.

I don't even think they can send Paajarvi down without exposing him to waivers. Lander should be down there now. Never should have been recalled.

Give him those four games and send him down for the run. I would love to see the Nordic line together for a playoff run.

If this doesn't happen I will be disappointed.

Anyone know how Marincin and Fedun have looked this year? I only saw a few games earlier in the season.

Looking at stats, Marincin has the highest +/- on the team by far. So I guess that's pretty good.

Eric Rodgers ‏@AHLBarons 13m
In case you were wondering, since returning from the #Oilers Yann Danis is 7-1-2 with a 1.97 GAA and .922 save %. #OKCBarons

Not bad.

Rajala with 38 points in 40 games, and always seems to be involved in the score sheet. I always thought he was too small and weak to be able to handle even the AHL, but he seems to be proving some people wrong. Perhaps NHL potential after all?

Thoughts from people who have watched the games?

Yeah, I agree. That will be better for his development than playing 4 or 5 meaningless NHL games. Give him a shot at what the playoffs in a high level pro league taste like.

He also has 27 points in 65 games--not bad at all. If he can repeat or improve on his season next year, things are looking good for potentially playing in the NHL.

Hall and Eberle would have to clear waivers so I'd say no. J.Schultz is probably a no simply because I don't know what he's going to have left after his first 80 game schedule of his career.

Yeah, Schultz has played enough this year. No sense in pushing things too far and risking a major injury. He's already shown what he can do in the AHL, anyway.
