a shorthanded breakaway against us ?
really ?
if there EVER was a time that you would think they'd play defense, that should be it !!

WTF ??!!

yea, i know, it's just 1 SOG and 1 scoring chance.

Bryz was 1 for 3 on breakaways tonight. the only 2 he let up.

this team blows & doesn't deserve to make the playoffs. period.

i don't care who they start in net. the team just can't play D & outwork opponents.

Bryz was pretty good tonight. Giroux scored earlier in the game but took a costly 4 minute high sticking penalty that lead to the GWG.

At one point, Chris Therien said "Mike Knuble is the best forward in this game." To which Tim Saunders said some variation of "It shouldn't be that way." Bryzgalov was third star tonight.

It wasn't an exemplary performance tonight. Gagne was OK if you are looking for sunshine, rainbows and lollipops.

I'll take gagne and knuble being good. You know what they say, don't paint a gift horse yellow. Or something. You know, I'm not sure what they say.

When asked why he wasn't looking at the Senators' rush, let Greening have a breakaway and then turned the wrong way on the play, Kimmo Timonen said, "They were on the PP, I wasn't expecting an offensive push from them. We have to come prepared to play for 60 minutes and for some reason we don't. And by 'we', I mean, 'them'. I want to emphasize that I did NOT fall asleep at centre ice. That's just a bad rumour."

Yeah, that's right, I think. Then if it dies from the paint toxicity, you beat a dead horse of a different colour.

I knew we were in trouble when Huskins skated that puck out of the defensive zone at the 7:00 mark of the first. The man looked like Bobby Orr in relation to what we've watched all season(s) from everyone else.

Good game from Bryz, fought the puck at times but battled all night and that's all anyone wanted to see from him really.

What would a Flyers game be without Bill Clement's "Ughs" Sometimes It's hard to believe he was once a top shelf analyst.

I am sure Clement would love to give his opinion on what is going on, but I am also sure he would love to have a job as well.
Bryz has a good game and the team in front of him is garbage. April 28th cant get here soon enough.

Yeah, as much as I've been defending him, he probably lost every single battle on the boards tonight, it was terrible. I liked Huskins's game, though.

But as much as everyone wants to improve defense, I think the offense is lacking just as much. Hartnell has been absolutely useless this year, and apart from some good checking on the boards he hasn't done anything. He's currently fit to be a 4th line grinder. I hope Rosehill doesn't get re-signed next year, because he also provides nothing. Giroux and Voracek, possibly also Simmonds, were the only ones who showed some creativity, while the rest only know how to dump the puck in and then maybe attempt a chase. Or attack from the wing and get nothing accomplished.

I don't have much to say about Bryz other than that he played really solid.

As far as Ottawa goes, I'm really impressed with how compact they play. They don't leave much room to operate and it seems we don't have an answer to that style of play. Zibanejad's line is absolutely awesome and I'm stoked for them to have those guys already exhibiting dominance on both ends of the ice. I thought they were their best line by far tonight. Also, Gryba had one heck of a game. I can't believe he's a rookie.

Why are they playing Rosehill over McGinn?

That guy is as useless as Shelley....is it just to protect G and buddies from getting hurt in the last 8 games?

I actually think Shelley is both a better hockey player and a fighter. Rosehill might be a better singer, though, but I'm not sure I'd let that particular talent decide who plays on the fourth line.

Hello, my name is Bernie and I am a tankoholic. I admit to being pleased seeing the second Ottawa goal late in the game. I would have been fine if the sweet Giroux pass had been converted by Simmonds a bit earlier, but the long-term view -- and based on the team's indifferent play -- is that losses are more valuable than wins.

My ray of sunshine is that this team is severely underperforming for their talent level, and with the absence of most of their key defensemen. It's not like they have a line-up filled with nothings, and I am confident of a much greater competitiveness next season, after a few important off-season changes.
