All that said... I'm not sure where that leaves Eberle. He hasn't exactly produced without Hall and RNH clicking on all cylinders.
Eberle will be fine. The Oilers will probably run with a 1A and 1B, Yakupov will draw more of the checking lines.

Hall--xxx---Yakupov
xxx---RNH---Eberle

We have 4 incredible offensive talents up front, let's pair them up.

Eberle is going to score 40 goals in this league. Like soon.

People overreact way too much, Gagner and MPS this year should've taught some folks a lesson on patience, Eberle is better than both Gagner and Paajarvi combined.

If the Oilers are dumb enough to trade him away for "needs" (read: magic beans), they deserve to finish last for the next decade straight.

Do you mean top pairing defenseman?

Its funny logic tho, we acquired Eberle after losing a top pairing defenseman (Pronger) and the result of losing that top pairing guy was tanking and picking #1st overall.

Trading Eberle for a top pairing defenseman would bring us out of the gutter and bring us full circle.

Disclaimer: I don't dislike Eberle, I just want the team to do well, which might involve trading Eberle.

If possible we should get Yak and Hall on different lines. That forces the opposing team to divide up their shutdown pairings and lines.

Hall-Gagner-Eberle
Big Forward-RNH-Yakupov

Alternatively we can slap Hall, RNH, and Yakupov onto one line. Every one of these players has shown they can produce with anybody at the NHL level (RNH was top 10 in NHL scoring for the first 20 or so games last year playing with Ryan Smyth). We can "talent overload" the opposing shutdown units so to speak.

Gagner and MPS "a lesson in patience"? Are you kidding. MPS has done nothing to help improve this hockey club aside from show small steps taken in his own personal development, with regards to battle level, physicality, going to the tough areas etc. Still a very, very long way to go an no guarantee he stays an Oiler by any stretch. As for Gagner, he's had a pretty good year on a ****** hockey team, still remains a mediocre to poor defensive player (PK time means next to nothing), and is looking good in the back half of what is a shortened season. Get outta here with this garbage! Seriously...

I love Yakupov, kid's got fire, he actually gives a damn about hockey and improving his own play. Love that he's still the last guy off the ice at practice, that's how it should be! If you're struggling, you practice and keep working hard until you get better. I never understood pro players that don't take practice seriously. They should be practicing almost every day. Look at Sidney Crosby, the guy is relentless and ever since he was a kid he's been working his ass off at turning his weaknesses into strengths. I guarantee you his teammates see that and respect him for it.

I'd hate to see Yakupov get traded, he's going to be a big time offensive player soon. Yakupov and Hall on a line, especially in a few years will be disgusting and almost impossible to handle.

Trading any of the kids is stupid. Period.

Eberle will have his stretch where he outplays Hall and then people will be saying trade Taylor Hall.

It's idiocy all around.

Yup. The "Get the pitchforks!" attitude on these boards is far more difficult and frustrating to view than the team at the moment.

Do a search on HF and you will find several threads talking about how Hall is the worst of the Edmonton young guns. These threads are complete with trade offers like Gardiner + Frattin for Hall. You will always find comedic relief on HF.

I think Yak still has ways to go... He still floats around a lot and is not strong on the back check... He needs to stop carrying the puck and start getting open to unleash his big shot...
Also, his radar has been off during games...

other than this... love the kid..
