I agree the value of that purposal is a little bit off; but a stud young defenseman, an NHL ready centre prospect with top 6 upside, and a centre coming off 2 straight 50+ point seasons are Spare parts?

Brassard and John Moore are spare parts? Yeah, no.

Of course they aren't the return a prime Gaborik would warrant, but this isn't pre-2011 anymore.

And as for that trade, I agree it probably wouldn't interest NYR because it doesn't fit their needs but Gardiner is anything but a spare part.

I would love Giradri and he's a right handed defensemen which is rare now a days. Would really compliment Phaneuf on the first pairing.

My offer:

1st round pick
Joe Colbrone

or

Mikhail Grabovski
1st round pick
Stuart Percy (25th overall in 2011)

Nonnis won't move the first though.

he was an Allstar and had a great season

he is also a very reliable Dman

but he isn't the kind of player you trade first round pick+prospect for

but i would give up a lot for Stall or Mac

also Del Zatto interests me more

Gardiner's a great piece and Colborne is solid. I liked Grabovski's game in the past and was a very good #2C, but doesn't seem the same this year and has a bad contract.

i always hear the rumours that the Rangers have been looking for a right handed Dman

why would they trade a Allstar right handed Dman

and then have Strallman as the only right handed Dman on the team

Stralman might end up being a lefty by the end of the season.

One slash to his right arm and he might embellish it so much it'll fall off.

I'd definitely sit down and think this one over. Especially if it's a top 5 pick, or at least close to it. I'm more enticed by picks because I'm going to the draft. Other Rangers fans would probably demand more NHL ready players than picks though.

NYR do have extra dmen, they have:
Staal
MDZ
McDonnagh
Moore
Strallman

McDonnagh and Moore both require to be resigned. McDonnagh will be the big ticket.

....... spare parts?

That's an overpayment for Girardi.

if Dan G is moved, I'd prefer he go out west. If he stays in the east, I want that team to pay a premium.

The Gardiner, Grabovski Colborne may not be a spare parts deal, but Not really wanting the Grabovski contract. That brings the value down a bit. But that's just my opinion.

From Toronto? The 1st is without question going to have to be the starting point. I like Biggs, although his recent PO struggles concern me.

Not seeing a deal that I would be comfortable making with the Leafs. Outside of the 1st and Biggs who I like, they are not moving.

Go west or look for an overpayment.

JVR and a conditional 1st for Girardi (condition is Lottery Protected)

Doubt the Leafs do that.

Edmonton should be all over this... If a Dman if his calibre is available, Edm has the trade pieces to get it done.

From Torontos perspective, Id love to get him.

Steve Eminger once got a first round pick. If Girardi is on the block you can bet that multiple teams will be willing to pay that price.

I would do that, but we desperately need Fransons offense on the backend. More importantly his shot.

The Rangers are not trading Girardi for the exact reason you mentioned.
There is a vocal minority in Rangerland that wants Girardi moved because he doesn't provide offense and his play has tailed off from last season because he has been playing hurt.
But then who do you replace him with is a question that has no answers to this point.

Gardiner will be decent Dman. Colborne has 0 value to me but I would definitely be okay with Gardiner coming back as a piece in this deal.

Edit* forgot Grabo... Not sure what his contract looks like. If he is on a decent contract Gardiner + Grabo + would be a decent deal depending on what the final + is.

Gardiner gets a lot of undue **** simply because he is a leafs prospect.

I'm also agreeing to no to the specified proposal, but conditionally yes to something else based on Gardiner +.

Yes.

But given lack of additional amnesties after we use one on Richards, we must be wary of Stastny unless we can figure out how to cap fit him. This is not a problem short term but could be a problem long term.

Counter offer:

something around...

Avs 1st 2013 + Siemens
for
Girardi + Rangers 2nd ?

Remember in posting your offers there would be a lot of suitors for DG, competition drives up price.

Also, Rangers could package DG with either Marc Staal or Del Zotto so as to get a premium for a L-R pair.

Consider that in your offer.
