Drewiske is the better player in his own end, with Diaz back we need that more than another offensive guy.

If PK teaches this kid how to play at both ends, watch out. PK is a guy who learned defense. He used to be completely offense. If Beaulieu learns that, woooo. The kid has moves already.

Diaz was very good defensively when he was playing, he certainly isn't a liability.

On the other hand, you'd have to consider the 2 PP units..

Markov-Subban
Beaulieu-Diaz

Man, that would be awesome.

Let's not forget though that Markov isn't getting any younger... he's probably not going to get better with time.

But even then, damn it would be nice to watch... Our offense from the blue line would be one of the bests in the league.

beaulieu has a nice fake shot that draws the defense in and then slides over a little to hit a wrister. until diaz gets back i think he should be paired with galchenyuk on 2nd pp unit to give gorges shooting arm a break ..[and thats not to put down gorges because to me he is the kind of leader every team needs--he is out of his element on the pp]

I thought Tinordi would make the team way before Beaulieu. I thought Beaulieu would need 2 full AHL seasons before becoming an NHL. I'm not saying he's already an NHL regular but he's very close.

I guess our top 8 next year will be:

Subban
Markov
Diaz
Emelin
Gorges
Bouillon
Beaulieu
Tinordi/Drewiske

Said it on the other thread but he has the same tools Nick Leddy had when he came in the league. Another guy who plays a similar game is Kevin Shattenkirk.

I believe he was saying Beaulieu should sit.

He's bigger than both though, I think he's going to be better than Leddy. In his own zone of course, if he becomes the player that Shattenkirk is today that's going to be great.

By an inch or two. In my book, that's not a big difference, it starts and ends by the way you play.

I just think Beaulieu is going to be a better all around defensemen than Leddy, very similar style of play though.

I meant Drewiske better than Beaulieu defensively. Diaz is solid in his own end plus very good offense.

This might not go over well with all the witch-hunters around here but I'll go ahead and give Lefebvre some credit (yes, Lefebvre!) for how well prepared Beaulieu and Tinordi (and Gallagher... and Dumont...) looked when given the chance to play with the big club.

Beaulieu has all-star/top 20 d-man potential. That's obviously not this year or next, like Subban it will probably happen in his 4th or 5th year at 23-24.

Yeah, I expect him to be a full time NHLer in the 2014-15 season. But hey who knows what will happen?

But not Leblanc, OH no! This guy is clearly a AHL 4th liner

In his last junior season, I saw him live 3 times, and he was pretty physical, even borderline dirty at times. I have seen him play with the Bulldogs at the beginning of the season, and he seemed a bit shy in that department, but haven't seen him lately. I think we'll be surprised by that aspect sooner or later, cause he got the size to be physical, and he's a surprising fighter too.
