I think you will have to provide specific trade ideas for us to evaluate for trade purposes. Too tough to speculate on a what would you want for him.
The oilers biggest needs in my opinion. A big top six forward, center or winger, has to be legit top six though. A top 4 puck moving defenseman, size would be nice but it is more important that the guy can skate or pass the puck out of his zone.
Im thinking of starting a GM on NHL 13, and i want it to feel real.
So what are Edmontons needs? Top D? New Goalie?
Im thinking of trading Eberle, thats becuase i see Hall and Yakupov have more value on them, ( i dont care if Eberle gets better on NHL, i want it real)
So what are your guys thoughts of what u need?
Wait for Rangers to spend to the cap and then offer sheet Del Zotto which they can't match only costing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Then trade them 1st,2nd and 3rd (from 2018) + lower prospect for those picks back and offer sheet Derek Stepan.
2) A better goaltender
3) A left handed puck moving defenseman who, unlike Ryan Whitney, can still skate
4) A version of Ryan Jones that is tough to play against
5) A version of Lennart Petrell that is tough to play against
Edmonton's best assets for addressing those needs
1) 2013 draft
2) Sam Gagner
3) 2014 first
4) Ales Hemsky
5) Anyone in the prospect pool not named Lander, Hartikainen, Marincin, Klefbom, or Musil
6) Cap space
Saying we need a number one goalie is stupid. Dubnyk clearly is capable of being the guy here. If they can put a respectable defence and team in front of him where he isn't having to face 40 shots every night and consistent wide open guys in the slot every shift than the team will start winning.
I think their needs are as follows:
#3-5 Dman (hopefully Klefbom can do this but doubt it for next season)
top 6 power forward
competitive bottom six players
back up goaltender
There is a lot of work to be done this off season... I don't think any GM can address all of this in one summer so I have serious doubt Tambo gets it done..
