I think he'll end up bulking up like PK Subban. Subban was physically pretty similar to Duclair at the same age. (no relation to skin color)

Duclair was at 157 lbs last year, got to 181 lbs at the beginning of this season and he's now at 185 lbs. (He gained some weight while missing several games because of an injury last Fall.)

His main weakness is hockey IQ. He's got great speed and great moves. I always compared him to Evander Kane and he himself said his game was similar to Kane's.

Did you just decide to not like Erne and compare him to someone that would elicit a negative reaction from Sabres fans?

Can see how some like him, but I personally do not want him. If you want a comparison, he could be Drew Stafford 2.0

Pros
Great shot
Good skater
Has size
Very Productive in the Q

Cons
Questionable/Inconsistent work ethic
Late Birthday (Oldest Draft Eligible Player)
Doesn't use his size as well as he could

Monahan and Hartman/Klimchuck,then John Hayden and Eric Roy in the 2nd. That is what I am looking for in rounds 1-2 with the picks we have.
I wouldn't mind and actually want Fucale, but I honestly doubt he will be there with the Minny pick.

Barkov and Lehkonen for the finish connection Y(^_^)Y
Also have a good feeling about Mirco Müller and William Carrier and hope they can snag one or both in the second round.

I like the limited amount of Mirco Muller I've seen. What's his prognosis as far as where he's slotted mock wise?

He's jumping around quite a bit, some have him as high as 20 some as low as 50, averaging around 30~35

As of this morning we'd draft 7th. We are tied with Nashille, but they'd be 8th by virtue of their 13 ROW's to our 11. Minnesota's pick currently stands at 18.

Wild are crashing, and hard. I wish Pominville success but the Wild missing the playoff would be huge for us. That trade is looking fabulous.

That being said, they're better than they are playing right now so I expect an upswing back to the norm soon.

Here's what's going to happen:

The Wild miss the playoffs, win the lottery, and we finish 4th. We draft Jones 1st with the MIN pick, and Barkov 4th with our pick.

Doubt it'll happen. They play Calgary 2x, Edmonton 2x, and Colorado 1x in the final 8 games. They only need 7 points to have an 85% chance of a playoff berth. I can see 7 points just in those 8 games and probably more.

I agree with that, and like I said, they're better than they are playing right now. Still, if Suter is hurt their D might collapse entirely.

And they aren't getting much offense either; they've been shutout 3 of their last 4 IIRC. Granted they've played soem good teams, but still.

Losses to Philly and Tampa in our upcoming games could really help this draft.

We'd have to finish 3rd to pick 4th in that scenario. The Minnesota pick would push ours back one.

Considering league standings by goal differential, and not points, I'd expect BUF to pick 6th or 7th. Carolina, FLA, & PHI don't play each other enough to give each other points. TB is a real engima. They have a positive goal differential but a ****** record. The majority of their final games are on the road & even with #4 back, I expect them to stay below BUF in the standings.

If I was Miller, I'd request my next win be my last game played this year.

Ignoring all other games by other teams and ourselves, losing to Philly and Tampa would vault us to the 5th pick. Scott at D would be great to watch.

Assuming we end up picking 5th, and the Big 3 and Barkov are gone, and DR is zoned in on either Monahan or Lindholm, which do you pick and why?

As bad as our team is, it clearly gets worse. There are some real crap ass teams out there, unfortunately for us.

Even if the Wild make the playoffs, the Canucks have a six point lead on them for the Northwest Division title, which would probably keep the Wild pick in the late teens barring a playoff run longer than two rounds.

I'd pick between Monahan, Lindholm, and Nichushkin.

I'd specifically choose Monahan or Lindholm. Monahan because he is already accustomed to the NA game and he has all the tools to be a 2C at worst. Lindholm has adjusted to playing against men really well in the SEL.

Russians scare me, let someone else take the risky pick. If he slips to our Minnesota pick, then go for it. But not at 5, too much risk.
