Sacramento formally begins environmental review process for #NBAKings #arena. City officials say process will take 12-14 months. >>>(still need to purchase land)<<< () - my input.

One more nugget: Source says Hansen's #SeattleArena land purchase will be closer to $80 MILLION, after it exercises option on another piece.

And yet hansen acquires another piece of property or plans to.

Yeah, Seattle is all talk....[/flashback to previous inane comment]

That's $110,000,000 minimum invested so far, and that only includes land purchases and non-refundable down payments. Think of the other millions spent so far in arena design, lawyers, & free drinks at FX McRory's for fans.

Or a little sooner than that. The Environmental Impact Statement won't get the full scope of the status of the endangered Mariners fan until late summer at the earliest.

That sounds like a Fall 2015 to early winter 2015/16 opening under perfect circumstances.

Hansen has the 7% now pending NBA approval.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...dline/2079105/

Not sure what happens if Hansen is approved of 7% but rejects the 65%.

From Sam Amick:

Quote:
"The key to this component of the deal, and so many others in this saga, is that this potential transaction will still require the approval of the NBA. As a result, the Sacramento side -- which is being headed by mayor and former NBA point guard Kevin Johnson -- is making this strategic choice based on the common sense assumption that the league would not approve the minority stake if they reward Sacramento with the majority share."

This put its up to a very complex issue for the BOG to figure out since there are two transactions to the same person. If they are fine with him with the 7% then they are fine with him with the 65%.

It comes down to which is being voted on first by the BOGs.

The NBA has given Sacramento every chance in the world to keep this team

Funny how they didn't do that with the Sonics when they were hijacked in '08

Stern is giving them every chance. BOG as far as we know wants to approve sale and relocate team.

Stern doesn't have authority to stop sale never mined he's a lame duck

I was more referring to Stern than the NBA (I should've said that)

Here's a crazy situation for the NBA two transactions 7% to hansen 65% to hansen.

If hansen is approved 7% then how in the world can they reject hansen on the 65%.

Source close to talks sez Seattle Hansen/Balmer group may up bid to buy Kings by $25 million, after Sac group says it’ll match Seattle’s bid

nice if sacramento has issues trying to match the 341 + 30m How can they match the 357.5 + 30m if they do match the 341+ 30m

Stern says he doesn't see this as a bidding war. Guess what it will end up as one if they match the 341 + 30m and Sacramento will lose.

This is why sacramento's group losing burkle was so huge.

They don't have the finances to handle a bidding war.

The Sac Group looks really unstable right now

They haven't spent 1 cent on this while Seattle's group has spent about $110M

Yea and a bidding war they do not want. They should concede imo.

It seems the Maloofs, intentional or not, may have exposed the weakness in the Sacramento Group. They can't or are not willing to match the Hansen "agreed upon" terms. It would seem with all the 'big' money people they have attached to their group they should be able to match pretty easily IMO. I think the problem comes down to they are not willing to or reluctant to match, in that the team will be worth the selling price in Seattle but not so much in Sacramento (re: TV revenue). Just a guess (hypothetical).

Pretty much. Riding Jordan, Bird, Magic, Lebron, etc.'s coattails all of these years. The Charlotte/NOLA/OKC/Seattle/Sacramento situation has been mismanaged from the start and it keeps on snowballing along. What city gets hit by the Sternvalanche next?

$110,000,000 is the minimum amount they have invested so far. That figure does not include arena design, lawyers, travel, and other costs we are unaware of.
