Scioscia is ruining the team. This team has no fire, and is not fundamentally sound. That's on the manager. **** can Scisocia and Butcher immediately

I am not sure I completely blame it on Sosh. The GM put all his eggs into hitting and didnt realize the pitching staff is atrocious. I am not sure there is a worse overall staff in baseball right now. They could not even throw strikes last night. Big league pitchers are walking runs in? Really?

This team is built with offense in mind as it's primary way to win games; not pitching as the money was spent on Pujols and Hamilton. Problem is the gamble isn't working out as well as it was projected to be. It may have been a bit foreshadowing when in the first two games, Ianetta was the team's best offense on a team loaded with Pujols, Hamilton, Trumbo, and Trout.

As for Hamilton's production not where it should be, I am disappointed. Yet there is a peripheral positive side to Hamilton batting clean up - Pujols gets to see better pitches. Last year, Trumbo was batting clean up and Pujols still hit third, but not as feared. This year, Trumbo bats after clean up, and Hamilton is struggling. (Note, most of Hambone's struggle's really are his own by chasing bad, bad pitches, but the opposing pitchers can do that knowing it's only Trumbo on deck as well.

Back to RISP, that's a lot of scoring left on the field. In the home opener, did you know the Angels got the bases loaded in a couple of innings? This team should be pounding the hell out of the opposing teams. And they do. They just can't score any runs even though the ball is being hit.

If the Angels can get on the board with a couple of runs, then that usually calms down the pitchers to pitch better. We don't have aces that can be indifferent of the game, so we're to be reliant on hitting. Yes, it's a huge gamble and it's not working out right now, especially when you look at the standings right now and we're below the Houston Astros. Really? Really! Really.

I'm not excusing the pitching. I had hopes of an average SP (starting pitching) and BP (bullpen), but we're not even mediocre. So both the pitching and hitting needs improvement. May be the team needs to listen to Mariah Carey's "Shake it off" song, but they need to relax and simply move forward.

I'm gonna wait a few more weeks before I press the panic button.

The starting rotation is all new with the exception of Weaver and Wilson. I'll give them time to adjust. Blanton maybe a little less because I don't expect much from him. Would rather have Haren. The bullpen looks iffy still.

Hamilton in my opinion is the crux of the offensive problems. He's had the chance to bat-in a ton of runs, and either strikes out or if we're lucky gets a sac fly. Pujols is at least getting hits, Trout is not hot yet, Trumbo gets a pass for at least a week for the homer he hit against Texas, and I'm actually impressed with Iannetta, Bourjos, and the bottom of the order. Aybar wasn't looking too bad, I hope he gets back in the line-up soon.

The only thing that can make this season better is if Arte starts firing people

Who is the hitting coach? I remember there was last season talks about him messing up Pujols' game for example.

Not going to hit the panic button just yet.

I was at the game tonight. I was so disappointed.

At least I got a free Mike Trout blanket.

A huge problem is the RISP average. In the past 2 games there has been 3 occasions, when the game is close, that there has been 1 out with runners on 2nd and 3rd. First batter strikes out. FFS, and I mean this literally, I could go up there and hit a ground ball to the shortstop to get a run in. That is simply unacceptable.

Beginning to think Joe Maddon was the brains of the operation.
DiPoto and Arte completely neglected the pitching, how on earth did they think it would be ok to build a rotation of Weaver, Wilson, and a bunch of 5th starters?

Whens the last time we had a good home grown starting pitcher? Probably Santana and Weaver

the RISP thing will even out, the problem is PITCHING, you can't win games giving up 8 runs all the time, it's impossible

Here is the gamble.

Put two good starters with 3 average ones.
Build up the offense.

Cruise control feeding off bad teams until late in the season.

Grab an available 1st line starter at the trade deadline so you have 3 good guys for the playoffs.

The problem i have, is that when your teams pitching sucks, its not fun to watch games. Even if your team wins.

This team is built so that there is one way to win. Hit hit hit.

You are hitting, you win. If a couple hitters struggle, then its over.

Its unfun to watch.

Adenhart was going to be a real good one.

I totally agree that pitching is the key. The staff (1-12) might be one of the worst in baseball. I really cant believe how bad the pen is.

Pretty much that. Frustrating season start, just like last year and it cost the whole season.

I got nothing for last night's loss against the Astros nor the blunder in the bottom of the ninth. I got nada. Usually, I got a lot to write about.

Torii Hunter is having quite a year. The Wells chump is batting over .300 for the Yanks. And we have THIS kind of Josh Hamilton.

Pujols had the walkoff double today. Hopefully the start of something with Josh, nice game for Garret Richards too, Mike Roth came up big out of the pen throwing those 2 scorless innings without giving up a hit. Hopefully we can get the win tomorrow and win the series.

That was a great comeback win. I still think Trout should be batting leadoff. New closer helped out immensely. Let's see if Wilson will help us win two in a row tomorrow! Noon game on Pacific time.
