Bishop also kept Lehner on his toes because it was healthy competition.

This season I thought Bishop gave us the best chance to win and the team was just giving Lehner starts to keep him happy. If Anderson didn't get hurt Lehner would have stayed in the A right until the trade deadline or even the off season.

If Conacher was 6'2 with the same stats would tampa have still made that trade? I don't think so.

He looks good and I hope he is a self starter but I think his contributions may be limited.

I don't think management ever trusted Bishop as much as the trusted Lehner (this season). They could have not called Lehner up at all, but they felt they needed him. I don't think it was just done to keep Lehner happy. I think all of this talk of related to Lehner's emotional state is getting a little silly here on the internets.

Conacher is solidifying himself as a solid 3rd liner in my eyes. Disspointed slightly as I had hoped he was a legit top 6er but it appears that his numbers were definately inflated playing with Stamkos and St. Louis...

Did we really need to trade for a small skilled guy when we have Pageau?

No one new Pageau was as good as he has been so far but dam, Conacher was supposed to be that guy.

The first thing I thought when we traded for him was the fact he was on such an offensive minded team.

Are we only allowed to have one of them?

Need a much bigger sample size before getting excited either way. Let Conacher actually get to Ottawa to

I have no problem with trading Bishop but I'd have not traded for Conacher. I'd have taken a (late) first round pick instead, if one was on the table.

He'll be surpassed on this roster by one of the young players within a year.

He will be limited imo.

We'll see its easy to say with 4 games under his belt, coming off a game where he was not the Strongest line.

Too early to tell. Conacher improves our LW depth which was poor. Lets wait until we have a healthy team.

And was traded in his rookie season, joined the team on the road, and hasn't played a home game. He was still moving his feet and engaged in the game tonight.

I thought of this the second the trade was made. I don't think he adds more to what we already have.

He is a Senator so I root for him, just didn't like the trade.

Yeah I know you did.

I like it, I don't see the limitation.

Here's a thought.

It was a bad trade for both teams.

Conacher isn't top-6 material (?) and Bishop is not considerably better than either of Tampa's goalies.

Both teams could've done better.

Just voted no because i've seen Pageau's play. We can compare both now. They both bring in speed and peskiness to the team.

I think I would have traded for picks but were they any teams willing to trade those late 1st or 2nds ++ that is the 1M $ question.

Murray was saying he wanted a top 6 (Eberle, Couturier) no way he was going to get those even by adding.

Time will tell if we got a 4th + a bottom 6 or a top 6 player.

Conacher could be used as trade to move up at the trade, I would be ok with that. So far I prefer JBP because of his defensive play, face off.

A week ago this was a steal and now Conacher isn't top six material? Come on people.

This. Give it some time.

I'm going to wait until the year is over to see where I'm at. I think the Silf-Zibby-Conacher line has been really good, just not getting points. They'll come.

Hey

I missed a lot of last night game but this

Conacher looked real solid in his first two games and now that Pageau is up and Silfverberg is struggling Conacher is no good?

We got a decent young winger with good upside for goalie depth we couldn't keep: sounds great to me

Your head will explode when that 4th round pick we got turns into another pageau

Seems like him and Mike Hoffman play similar games. I'd like to see them both in the line-up at the same time. Who knows, maybe Hoffman turns out better.

I love his skill set. He's a 2nd liner or bust.
I'm going with 2nd liner.
