Wonder how Day will impact the attendance. Hopefully it gets a few more butts in the seats

Just looking at stats here, 49 points in 40 games not bad at all. Team was stacked though, 5 players selected in first 26 picks.

Here's a small bit that www.intheoradio.com did on him after a game:
"Barwell is a a forward who has a very skilled set of hands on him. He is able to skate on the big line of the Rangers and is almost a ‘secret weapon’ for the Rangers as the focus has not yet shifted to covering Barwell like his forward counterparts. He can skate well and handle the puck on the move. Barwell can even handle the puck from his knees as he lost an edge, glided on both knees, and still got off a quality shot that almost beat the Regals goaltender. In the coming weeks Barwell may be shifted up and down lines as Petawabano and Sprong are put into the lineup. No matter which line he is put on, Barwell will be a viable offensive threat throughout the season."

Steelheads take right winger Austin Gerhart with the 36th overall pick.

Gerhart's a forward, and I guess I'm the newest Steelheads fan.

With Sean Day getting Percy's #28, who will be the new captain?

Martin has really great leadership qualities but obviously they wouldn't give it to him. I say they stick to defense and give it Carrick.

I agree I would give it to Carrick on the backend. He has the qualities that a captain needs.
Also what guarantee that Percy won't be back , he may very well end up back with the Steelheads.
The Leafs and the Marlies are stacked on the backend and its very possible Percy will eventually come back.
Time will tell...

if he returns as an overager i can see Kontos becoming captain, with Carrick and Smoskowitz being alternates.

1st round nhl picks never play their overage year.

I have watched Barwell and Gerhart a few times this year, very good second round picks.

If Percy came back as an overager which none of the players expect, he would be traded away immediately for assets. There would be no sense in keeping him or Demelo. Very low possibility.

I agree they would trade them for assets absolutely if that were the case of either player returning !

You can bet your bottom dollar that Kontos will not be back. In the last game against Belleville he was on the 4th line.

Either Carrick or Smoskowitz will be captain I believe.

Believe it or not I'd probably say between Carrick or Foy.

Why would you say that? Is it a case of being there longer?
