The system they play will not win them the cup. Way too many holes in their team.
Ottawa has 3rd highest shots against average. Tonights game is an oddity.

They actually play a good defensive game, not many dangerous shot in their good games.

Their system will probably change if/when their offensive players come back from injury, now they just want to play a game as tight as possible and hoping 1-2 goals is enough to win.

We were in a similar situation last year with the injuries but we finished 15th, props to them to still have a shot for the playoffs but I guess the short season also help a little.

Hijiking every Subban thread with talk of Erik Karlsson, trying to justify Anderson's jabbing a player with the butt-end of his stick, reminding every fanbase of all their injuries all the ****ing time. Sens fans

Leaving midway through the 2nd to "beat traffic" and the Gladiator should have been enough

Well said. My thoughts exactly. I guess that's why they're the most hated fan base in hockey. When you haven't done anything of significance in close to 50 years...you're in no position to trash talk.

I know they got a good player in Matteau...but Jersey was so awesomly stupid for not giving up their 1st rounder last year 'cause of the Kovalchuck incident....They are struggling this year....and won't be better next year.

Rumour has it they were aiming to get Malcolm Subban but missed out when Boston nabbed him.

Well, it's stupid to think that Subban would have been available late like that. Besides, you don't really aim for a goalie unless he's top 5 and you desperately NEED him. There are other options like taking a goalie later that will end up just as good. Or take it the year after...nothing suggest Fucale would be such a downgrade over Subban later on.

I think Habs fans are just as bad, if not worse.

We whine about the refs, we whine about injuries, we whine about the Bruins, the Leafs, their fans, we whine about Bettman, we whine about language laws, we whine about fighting, we whine about not fighting, we whine about the media, the Toronto media, our own media, we whine about the CBC and Don Cherry, we whine about when Gorges speaks, we whine about when players don't speak, we whine about embellishment, we whine when we're called whiners, we whine about our own fans...

Let's be clear. When you're discussing character traits of many millions of people, there is no "We". And yes, that applies to every fan base. Every team has its younger, stupider, more obnoxious followers, who have nothing in common with the nice, reasonable guys except the logo on their jerseys.

Habs fans include the normal amount of hyper-emotional nutjobs, but take a peek at the Leaf thread today for a true psychology lesson on mob psychosis. Words like "Kill!" "Hurt!" "Hit!" "Destroy!" litter their board like a homo-erotic circle-jerk. Any Leaf fan over the age of 18 would be mortified to be associated with those flying monkeys. Many of them are not emotionally equipped to handle winning; the tiniest sip of success and they're drunk like a 14-year-old after his first beer.

Habs fans are many things, but even the worst don't usually tumble off the deep end like that.
