He's safe unless they arrange someone else. Mason is probably the truly safe one, I'd be shocked if he isn't backup next year. As for the starter slot, they should be kicking every tire in sight.

Anyone caught any Tampa games? I am curious as to how Bishop is performing.

Bishop had something like a 49 save shutout in his first game with TB

welp, so much for those who said "they aren't going all out for Bryz !!" & the ever popular "all we need is a breakaway / big save here or there !!"

they have gotten just that for three games in a row & 2 with the "they'll try harder for Mason" effect

wrong.

it's NOT & has NOT been the goaltending all season.

period.

lets see if this team decides to try hard next year ..... cuz this year's over

The seasons over give it a rest man. The team sucks as a whole. Everyone knows it. Goaltending isn't THE problem but its part of the reason for this brutal year.

He's attacking imaginary targets at this point.

In 3 games with #Flyers, Mason has a 1.74 GAA and .934 SP.

It's been 2 games + 1 period... And he didn't exactly have to stand on his head today and against Buf and 1 period vs WPG wasn't really challenged.

NYI didn't go so well.

But, they gotta sell papers for sure around here.

So with all of the talk about Hartzell would we be looking at a Ahl starter or what with this guy? I've never seen him play.

Bob stopped 39 of 41 through overtime and also both shooters in the shoot out. Columbus scored twice so they didn't have to do a third round. The Columbus announcers said Bob stopped a couple of breakaways in the first and that it could have been 4-0 after 1 if it weren't for him.

You would think most are sick and tired of hearing how great he is doing, but I love it. Kudos to the kid for proving that impatience and shortsightedness will forever be the doom of this franchise.

Bryzgalov got his consistent starts this season - which many argued was the reason he struggled last year - and yet the result stays the same. I understand this team has far more problems than just goaltending, but it certainly isn't helping - as opposed to the situation in Columbus, where Bobrovsky is almost single-handedly carrying them into the playoffs.

And before someone says it, I'm already expecting him to suck in the playoffs like he did here in his whole seven appearances.

Ha ha ..I know right and in his first year in a totally new league..and then people throw out that he sucked in his second year....a year where he had to adjust to being a backup which is not easy. Totally mishandled the guy and yes Bob should teach this organization once and for all that they have to be patient and develop players properly but I suspect Couturier and B Schenn will be traded within a year....

New league, new country with no support from any friends or family, didn't know the language. What he did was really remarkable. Tonight they were pretty much outshot 2:1 and he still came through.

His manhood was soft too ...no girlfriend. As I noted .....everybody was amazed at his interviews here and in Russia. He sounded so well-adjusted yet we have to deal with Bryz and try to figure out whether he cares or not or how much he cares and he sounds about as mentally adjusted as a prozac patient...
