My biggest problem with Ferland is that he plays a role in the AHL that i have seen the guys on our NHL squad dominate at. Begin and Murray were dominant forces on that Third line/checking line in the AHL while they were on it in 2004-05, and early in 05-06 respectively. Their presence was very noticeable on the ice, and they were always throwing the big hit, or making a turnover happen, or getting a scoring chance at the other end. Maxim Lapierre had some of that same dominance in games i saw last year. Ferland while he played his role well, did not really stand out like the others. You rarely ever looked at the guy and said, wow that is one of the best players on the ice like I did with the other three. It seemed more like he was doing his job, while with the other guys it seemed like they could take over the game at times.
why do they say I can't vote? do I need a mnimum of messages or something?
Rookie posters (which is anyone who has not been here for at least three months) cannot vote in polls. But if you want to voice your opinion, just post it anyways, although it won't count towards the poll unless we go to a tie-breaker.
EDIT - wow, its still close, White leads Ferland by 2, who leads Locke by 2. Still time for things to change.
