How many times has that happened in the history of the NHL?

I'm seriously laughing out loud over that.

I saw Josh Yohe tweet earlier "I hope Malkin can stickhandle tonight. His hands are just a little red. #didntusesunscreen" I thought it was a joke

Well I guess we know what they did on their day off yesterday

Lol, that would be hilarious.
First time I've ever legitimately laughed at an injury.

Oh wow, that's gotta be the first ever that a player misses a game because of a sunburn?

That florida sun can really hit you hard and fast if you're not used to it. I remember when I took a trip to the Orlando area to visit a college and I spent around an hour or so at the pool at my hotel and I was a lobster for the rest of the week in major pain. This was around this same time of year too. I am also not the kind of person to stay pale either, I usually tan very easily. So with Malkin's fair complexion it doesnt entirely surprise me that he got hit hard by that south florida sun.

Get that man some apple cider vinegar and tell him to get his ass out there! This is embarrassing if he misses a game due to sunburn.

If his sunburn is bad enough, you really wouldn't want him out there. There's no way he'd be able to focus on his game.

exactly, if you're making 8.7 million and a lot of fans pay to see you, you just can't miss a game to sunburn.

Malkin officially not playing. Not on ice for warm-ups. His sun burn did look bad. Not saying that's why he isn't playing...but, a theory.

Wow Geno..

I hear what you guys are saying, but it sounds like none of you have had a really bad sunburn before. I'm originally from South Florida. If you get caught out there too long, it's no joke. It can get to the point where having clothes touch your skin causes you extreme pain, and it definitely ****s with your mindset.

If he hasn't been dropped because of his sun burn then could Dan actually had the sight to tell him that he's not played well enough and scratched him for 1 game?

I think some of you are overreacting. If this team was fighting for a playoff spot he would more than likely play.
