The thing you have to consider is: This is Montreal. Taxes are higher. Pressure is higher. Taxes mean you have to overpay by AT LEAST 10%, probably 15-20%. Pressure can't be accounted for, but so far Price has shown he can withstand the pressure cooker, which most guys prove they can't after a few years. For those reasons, I think Price's contract is ok. Not in relation to his level of play, but in relation to what he represents for the team, and for all the off-ice stuff.

Cost of living is less though. I remember an article saying Montrealers would have the same money left compared to the average states (after taxes and buying stuff).

He's not average. He's a good goalie but is incredibly inconsistent. Anyone calling him elite is out of touch. He can be elite, though.

Habs clinch playoffs in a perfect game versus the Sabres.... 20 pages on hf..... Habs get pounded in a semi-meaningless game versus the leafs.... 2 threads and going strong after 2 periods.....
Typical...come to show the hate, but not the love...

The more important the game, the more likely he is to crumble imo. He does it time and time again. I love Price and glad we have him, but I don't feel comfortable with him in net for big games, come playoffs I'm hopeful he'll change my perception.

He played well in game 7 against Boston a few years ago. I do agree though, he just isn't a guy I'd feel comfortable with in a big game. I think he's a good goalie, but I don't know if shooters fear him. he can get rattled pretty easily when things go south.

That's the feeling I have as well.

Another thing is that everytime he gives up a bad goal, you know a second and maybe 3rd bad goals are coming ... I don't know why people think "he's calm and cool"
