Turris is in a slump on a low scoring team that just had its worst 2 weeks of the season.

JVR and Michalek would be more apt comparison skill wise.

How many slumps does this guy get?

He already had one 22 game goalless slump.

JVR.

Sakic-lite can't win them all.

Seems like Kyle Turris has been in a slump since 2007.

JVR

Turris has on-ice confidence issues, really inconsistent.

Gagner has nothing to do with this poll, but you know who does? The guy who almost went the equivalent of half the shortened season without a goal. You know who didn't? The better player, JVR.

Turris is having a bad season and is on pace for 48 points in 82 games.

So he has had bad seasons since he started . He was a tier 2 junior star overated in his draft year and a average player. So overated its pathetic he has 4 goals last 37 games this as a number 1 center.

Wouldn't that be considered a good season for him compared to his others?

Not many players succeed in roles they aren't ready for. Turris is a #2 center.

He was playing better last season and early this season behind Spezza. He's struggled with always being the main focus of opposing teams. He's a #2 center that isn't ready for the #1 center role.

Turris seems to hit a post every game.

Turris is a great player but I think JvR will be the complete package.

He does everything you want a PWF to do for you except fighting. Very skilled.

Both these players a bit inconsistent though, I see Turris as a solid #2, I think JvR has 70 point potential.

He's had an up and down season and is still on pace for ~60 points now that he's finally getting the ice time.

JvR on the Flyers didn't get much ES or PP time. On the Leafs, he's playing ES/PP/PK.

van Riemsdyk. For the same reasons mentioned above.

He's very good.

I was a big fan of the trade when it was first speculated about.

Best part is that power forwards usually develop later.

No idea about points potential for either.

They are pretty different in terms of style.

Both players have similar pts totals with a slight edge to JVR, but I'd say he also has the favourable Quatlity of Team mates with Kessel and Bozak over an aging Alfredsson and a grab bag of LWs from rookie Silfverberg, to Greening or Latendress for Turris.

Turris' line does a better job of driving possession, with better Corsi, and Fenwick numbers, and while both have similar zone starts, Turris' line finishes in the OZ far more often.

Turris has had his struggles with consistency this year, though when considering that he was thrust into a role that clearly isn't ideal when the teams top 3 offensive players have been out for extended and overlapping periods resulting in a team that lacks offensive depth, you can cut a certain degree of slack.

I'd say right now JVR gets the edge, albeit not by as large a margin as some are making it out to be, but the future is in the air, as we've yet to see how he will do when the opponents have more than one line to worry about.

Accidentally clicked Turris Now, JVR in the future.

Meant to choose JVR for both.
