Erat is day-to-day according to the Caps training staff.

He must really be loving the more physical East ... good god Gudbranson with a total bone head hit ... apparently Gudbranson is going to be suspended for that hit.

Kyle Okposo's assist is insane.

Buffalo beats NJ in SO moving us down to 24th. If the season ended we'd be picking 7th.

Not to mention we've played the most games of any team in the league. Calgary plays Colorado tomorrow, so one of them has to win. Top 5 is a real possibility.

Isn't there a lottery this year with all the non playoff teams in the mix?

Yes. It's weighted and such, but no matter where we finish, we have a chance at #1.

Step 1: Win lottery.
Step 2: Trade down to #2, likely picking up a 2nd or so in the process.
Step 3: Draft MacKinnon.
Step 4: Forsberg-Mackinnon-Wilson

Step 5: Profit

Though I would be perfectly happy with Barkov, and still pretty happy with Lindholm.

Preds tragic number for a top 9 spot in the lottery is 49 PTs. For top 5 45 PTs. Losing 1 pt puts the Preds chance of making the playoffs below 50%.

Just give me one of Drouin, MacKinnon, Barkov or Lindholm and i would be so happy.
If we trade up i hope it's not for Jones, even if he is going to be a stud but i think we need a firstline talent more IMO

after last nights loss, are we still statistically capable to even make the playoffs?

Unless Jones can then be packaged for a proven NHLer. That would be OK with me, but what do we have to trade to get the first overall? That's what I don't want to see, honestly.

Our chances are less than 2% of you trust http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/W...Nashville.html

Even if we win out they have us at ~80% chance, so no guarantees at all.

pretty good since they all by definition suck, and are likely, just like us, playing younger guys and such... I dont expect many wins from the bottom 8 from here on out....

I'm not making many fans in Edmonton or Ottawa. I've been railing against the NHL for not stepping in where the refs dropped the ball with respect to the Hall slash and the Anderson butt-ending.

The only thing consistent about this League is inconsistency.

Erat in tonight for Washington. Caps up 5-1, Erat has 0 points, -1...

Update: Now -2 and has looked pretty awful IMO.

Just heard on HNIC that Antoine Laganiere is on Nashville's radar. Apparently Vancouver, Winnipeg, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Nashville are all in on him right now.
