So the only ones you considered rookies are the ones some on this board define as being rushed into the NHL.

So you definition does it include anyone from the AHL? Is Beck a rookie?

Perhaps your opinion, but... he's a rookie

this is his first opportunity to play at this level, and there's a big adjustment from college, juniors, and the minor leagues.

Clune is a rookie despite being a five year pro.

It's more than just an NHL designation, it's an adaptation to the game itself.

Awards:
1st 40 games = 1st season = rookie season.

Though I guess one can make the point that a player too old to be eligible for the Calder trophy is not a rookie. That is until someone else comes along and says anyone not skilled enough to be eligible for the Calder is not a rookie, and then the world explodes.

If, after I depart this vale, you ever remember me and have thought to please my ghost, forgive some sinner and wink your eye at some homely girl.

The Chris Mason that I saw last night was definitely not the same player as in his Milwaukee Admirals days. That Mason made 54 saves in a playoff game for a win.

Mason had two good starts followed by two bad starts. It's amazing how much he gets lambasted for goals that Rinne gets excused for under similar situations. If it's a bad goal, it's bad no matter who is between the pipes.

I generally would agree with you, but you left out the times in relief after Rinne was shelled, Mason was as well. And this past game was the absolute worst he had, Mason could stop nothing.

I've blasted Rinne this season too.

Mason just looks slow and not very athletic right now. His reaction time is way down.
I think early in the season he was fresh, now, he is showing his age.
