More proof on how ridiculously underrated Markov is.

Im fully aware of Markov's value, so my Pock + Rozsival offer may be too little..

Pock is a solid offensive up and coming D-man, and with these departures, Montreal will have room to let him develop. Hes also Austrian, and that fits in with the new Montreal philosophy of, players from small random european countries.

Rozsival was one of the NHL leaders in the +/-, and plays a solid all around game, although clearly worse than Andrei.

Willing to add a lower end draft pick too.

Markov would fetch a lot more if he wasnt a UFA at the end of the year..

I don't see any reason for Rivet and Begin to hold all that much value to other teams. A mediocre pending UFA D and a grinder, not exactly highly-sought commodities. But they both play their hearts out for the habs, and they're both positive influences in the room, so to the habs they have a much higher value. That's the point I was trying to make I guess, those two players are huge for the habs, but not particularly valuable to anyone else, so even a "fair" trade by value will be brutal for the habs.

Souray and a 3rd wouldn't get you either of Ehrhoff/Carle, let alone both.

Hmmm, maybe you could put in your own proposal instead of just bashing everyone else's? I thought the Stoll proposal wasn't a bad one at all.

Stoll and a 2nd won't fetch you Markov alone, because Markov is too valuable to the habs. That's what everyone has to realize, when markov was out the habs were worse than the caps. But when hes in there playing good hockey.Im not sure if there is a guy on the oilers worth markov,to the habs.

I could see Markov traded at the deadline for Stoll and a conditionnal 1st round pick.

Stoll is definitely a kind of player that perfectly fits on the new habs.

However, I do agree that this kind of trade could be unrealistic if we are in the playoff run.

If Stoll repeats or improves on his last season, he sure won't be available at the deadline.

Markov has to be top priority for the Habs to sign, hopefully to a deal like Kaberle got. Markov is the Habs MVP. The record without him in the lineup was terrible last year.

PSA:

for those that are unaware, AHall18NYR is formerly known as Jortmeyer41 (or whatever it was), so there is no need for an over-reaction.

So what would you give for any of these guy ?(please don't start flamewar with habs fans please)

you can also make package with other players from our team and let's get realistic.
Habs need a center (young or old) other depth defenseman to replace the guy that left.
habs 1st rounder is also up for grab and you can add any of the montreal prospect pool to boot!

let's start now !
I'd give you Perezhogin, Ribiero and a 2nd. Its a package that is in demand from what I hear.

What's the point of making that trade then?

Even if both of them were signed, I wouldn't trade Markov for Rafalski straight up.

Well if the Devils need cap space, acquiring Markov won't do a whole lot considering he's a UFA after this season, and he'll get at the very least double of what he's making now (2 mil/yr).
