I know who you were talking about there. I was just wondering why you mentioned him as a solid goalie.

Do you really see the Pens replacing him in the next few years? I don't.

Btw the starting line-up for the phantoms was Akeson-Laughton-McGinn and Syvret-Manning

Edit: Game in OT

If he keeps it up with his spectacular performances in the playoffs it could happen.

Well actually he said the Flyers are pushing the most to get him signed. I don't know if that increases our chances, but we'll see I guess.

Akeson with the OT winner, his second of the game and 19th of the season. Now has 51pts in 58 games.

It seems like Mathers fights every game. I'm always seeing his name with a 5 minute major next to it in the score sheet.

I listened to much (stream got cut off a couple times) of the second half of the game and only remember hearing his name once and I think that was in the 3rd. The announcer even mentioned him playing for SOO at that point which made me wonder if that was the first time his name was mentioned all game.

according to the game summary these are the forwards that were on the ice for the 4 even strength goals:

Bordson-Roe-Mathers - ADK Scores
Noebels-Flanigan-Mathers _CT Scores
Fitzgerald-Roe-Sim - CT Scores
Fitzgerald-Roe-Mathers - CT Scores

The only line I remember is the one stated above: McGinn-Laughton-Akeson

Cousins was most likely with Alderson and Sim or Bordson

He's been a goal scoring machine lately

Side note: Alt seemed to play a good game

Cousins centered Alderson & Bordson.

He did not play later in the third period or in overtime - after possibly being injured crashing into the endboards in the offensive zone.

Yes, he has. He really has an under rated shot too. He's a playmaker first and foremost so he really doesn't shoot much but the past few games he's been taking more then normal. Maybe the coaching staff is encouraging him to shoot more. Hope he continues.

Oh and I know he's gotten some pk time this yr but I really don't know how much and I don't think the AHL keeps track of that stuff. Can anyone help me out and tell me how he's looked pking/how often he does it?

It was Elliotte Friedman who said the Flyers had the biggest push to sign Hartzell. Not PJ Stock. Major difference there. One is an intelligent writer, the other is a complete assclown.

Hartzell was at the Flyers prospect camp last summer, so the team is already familiar with him. Didn't have a great night last night after giving up the first goal, but he seems pretty good. Get him in the AHL for next year where he and Heeter can split time.

I don't think that would be too appealing to him.

If it's Binghamton, there is a good chance there is a stream. The OTT guys usually provide one so I'd check their board. Thats the one game you can usually see.

Akeson has improved in his own zone and if you followed the phantoms this season that would be evident. Yes he's undersized but so are many other NHLers, that alone isn't enough. you saying his game won't translate means nothing when you have nothing to base this on. and now you're saying he won't even get an invite? he did the past two years and all he has done is improve so why would he all of a sudden not be invited? i guess time will indeed tell...

2. I never said anything about Ranford so please if you're speaking with me don't make blind generalizations to prove a point about others.

3. No, I do not like Wellwood, I think he's a career AHLer (and honestly not a very good one either).
your right he is ligthing it up offensivley in the nhl. my bad, that is nothing to base it on.

well his defesnive game, akeson was non existent, so yes hehas imporved as h had where to go but up. maybe if i followed the phantoms i would knowthat. matsomoto showied no interest in improving, thtas interesting.

(I don't think he got invited this year because of a shortened camp and only a few call-ups from Adirondack to try out.)

That said, Akeson's vision and passing are very easily at NHL level. He can be an offensive weapon.

However, the question is whether or not he can be an offensive force on the wing without the puck on his stick. Akeson is the kind of guy who needs the puck to produce. Center is a better position for him, but he certainly won't get that on the Flyers for defensive problems and the organization depth at the position. So can he produce on the wing as a defensively irresponsible forward who gets knocked off the puck easily?

That's the problem with Akeson. However, if put with a center like Couturier, he might be able to provide secondary offense. That doesn't mean though that he'll become the best option.

He's a longshot for sure, but he definitely has a shot. There are problems with his game, but the level that Ticket seems to be taking this discussion would insinuate that I'm penciling Akeson into the lineup right now. Even with his issues, he's a better option than quite a few AHLers we have floating around.
that is all i am saying. nothing more nothing less. though i think his shot is very slim
