Pyatt started the season really well and I remember saying if he continues this throughout the year, losing Dubinsky would be offset. It wasnt just about the goals though, he was really working the boards well, and keeping possession in the zone.

This wasnt just a 5 game thing though, it went on for a good while and he was actually one of the most consistent forwards for over the first quarter of the season.(first quarter of a half season mind you) Then it faded and disappeared all together. I dont know what happened. Maybe he had a bad game or two, Torts lost confidence in him, he started sucking offensively not generating anything...

Right now hes really just a body out there. Cant remember the last time I said to myself "oh, nice little play there by Pyatt". I dont think he's really been a detriment defensively but he's not giving the team and energy with his play. He really picked it up at the end of last season and into the playoffs for the Yotes, so hopefully that happens again, albeit on the 4th line. But he looks like a waste out there right now, would rather have Miller in his spot.

He's up there with Jeff Toms, Kevin Stevens, Valeri Kamensky, and Rich Pilon in terms of my most hated Rangers.

Useless and invisible are the kind words to call Pyatt.
I think he is worse than all of them. Even Putty. Maybe even Fedyk.

He is so incredibly slow. And the "dump it in without any momentum" scheme probably doesn't help.

No one is worse than Fedyk. He is "he who shall not be named."

Pyatt's not nearly as bad as the first post makes him out to be. Top 10 worst Ranger of the last decade? Not even close.

He has been pretty useless, though.

Same here, and I just dont understand players like that.

He started the season in the top 6, slide to the 3rd line, is now on the 4th line, and his spot in the lineup is hanging by a thread. I fail to understand how players can continue to play an indifferent game when thats happening. Wheres the jump? Wheres the physicality?

I have one request for the hypothetical playoffs. Can we just bring Kreider back up to replace Pyatt and hope he can recapture some of last year's magic? Seriously, what does Pyatt bring?

1. Doesn't fight
2. Doesn't play the PK
3. Doesn't play the PP
4. Can't pass
5. Can't score

I know Torts "can't trust him"... but on a team that will probably need a bit more offense, can't you at least TRY?

I never liked him as a player, but even I was expecting some grinding play from him. He literally does nothing on the ice.

As you can see, I wasn't a fan from day 1, but I got a glimpse of false hope when he played like a legitimate top 9 player for the first week of the season. But then I realized it was an anamoly in remarks to Pyatt's career. He put up a career high 37 points playing with the Sedin twins, that's bad.

To be fair, I also predicted Avs making the playoffs.

Him along with Richards need to go away.

We need to get rid of this guy in the offseason, there is no way he can be apart of this team again next year.

I can't believe that we have nobody to replace this guy with.

I can't imagine he won't continue to be a non-factor in the playoffs.

Why replace him? You might as well just keep that 4th line RW slot open.

They should throw him on waivers and then send him to the whale if he sucks that much.... Pull Haley back up and put some actual muscle on the 4th line.

I don't really HATE Pyatt. He is just kind of there. He doesn't provide anything, but I never feel like he's going to royally mess up. Not since those first 10 games have I really thought "Nice play, Pyatt", but at the same time I don't really say "Dammit Pyatt". He's just nothing.

I'd like to see Bourque take his spot. Bourque is fast, can kill penalties, take faceoffs if he has to, and from what I have read has a very underrated shot. I'm sure he can handle Pyatt's 8 minutes.

A more likely scenario is Dorsett taking his spot come playoff time.

I'm with this. He's not like bad or anything. He just legit does absolutely nothing. It's not like he's out there making constant mistakes

You generally have to be involved to make mistakes.

I'm not the biggest Pyatt fan, I certainly was not enthused with the signing, but he's given pretty much exactly what I expected. Looks like an oaf most of the time, but scores goals at a high pace for a bottom-six winger.

Really hope that Dorestt makes it back in time for the POs, pushing Boyle to the 4th line and Pyatt to the stands. If you can't score, forecheck, backcheck, fight or kill penalties there really is no point in being on the ice
