Even with the winning streak we just had I don't see us making the playoffs if the offense keeps playing like this. We are far from a lock

You have got to be joking. We're making the playoffs. Losing to the best team in the league doesn't change that.

Why the hell would anyone who knows anything about hockey single out Perron today. He has been more effective and visible than pretty much every forward today not named Backes or Sobotka. He isn't scoring and is ice cold currently, but looking at the scoreboard, so is the rest of the team.

Berglund is a ghost coasting through games at this point. Neither Schwartz nor Tarasenko are in the building. Stewart is on vacation again. McDonald is a joke at this point, but somehow Perron gets called out.

So us losing 2-0 to the best team in the NHL. You don't win every game and we only need to win like one or two more games until we are in. They will be in store for an early exit if they don't start scoring however.

5 goals in a week is pretty much what you can expect when your #1C is a glorified goon.

Do the Blues have 3 hits since the first period ended?

Lol way to go Blues. Start playing after the game has been decided.

EDIT: Poor Elliott. Put Allen in to take the rest of these goals. No sense in ruining Elliott's confidence.

Completely missed what I was saying. Has little to do with outcome of this game but if you include it we have 6 goals in our last 6 games which basically means we need a shutout each and every game for a shot to win. IF this trend continues I could see us easily slipping out of the playoffs. Especially with the way Dallas and Columbus are playing.

Agreed.

Too much dump and chase... Too many lost battles while dumping and chansing... Poor zone entries... Too many perimeter shots... Not enough battle in the low slot....

Welp, can't believe I'm about to say this: Brian Elliott has been our best player today.

But seriously, seems like he showed up and (for the most part) is playing really well. The first goal was a bad bounce, and the second goal really shouldn't have happened and can be blamed on our awful PP.

>Defensive zone faceoff in the first place on a power play
>Losing defensive zone faceoff
>2013
YGSIU

...you see what the Blues have reduced me to? 4-chan style greentext to express my frustration.

Yes, if every game we play from now on, our offense stays the same and defense regresses we might slip out of the playoffs. That's just not going to happen though. The Blues were always making the playoffs this year, now even moreso. There is currently a 2.3% chance the Blues miss. It would have to be a monumental collapse.

Perron has been visible because he's made stupid plays that stand out. It is so apparent that he wants points for himself as he continuously tries to stick handle around Blackhawks players instead of cycling the puck to open teammates.
