Drouin could become the more skilled guy between the two but we need a #1 center so bad. Mackinnon really isnt a longshot or project type pick.

He's continuing to drop in everyone's rankings. Just too much bust potential in him.

Dropping he dropped two spots that's not tumbling at all. I just want a guy who can play top line and mesh with FF

Lindholm I think can be that guy. Ill be equally thrilled with that pick. I just cant see us lucking out and obtaining Drouin, Mackinnon, or even Barkov

by this logic, Forsberg has major bust potential.

Sportsclubstats project the Preds at the 5-6 spot per lottery. To me I would be happy with any of the top 8, the only 2 d-man I would be alright with in the 1st is Jones and Nurse. The D needs tightening up too.

If the Preds are out of the top 10 Shinkaruk is my choice.

The only forward in the top 10 that gives me the uggas is the Russian wing from the KHL. He could be the next Jagr but he's rising WAY too fast for me. Like up a rd fast

if we pick in that range I hope we pick Lindholm over Nichushkin. We need a center badly. Id expect us to take the swedish center over the big russian winger.

IF and it's a big IF the Preds were to win the lottery the Seth Jones auction will be insane. Not just from FLA & COL but every team (Edm) who needs a #1 D will be clamoring.

yeah if we did, Id love to do that trade with Calgary you mentioned to get the 2nd and 29th picks. We would benefit tremendously

#1, who says Calgary will even have the second pick??

#2, if Calgary does have it, why would they trade a late first and the second overall for just the first overall when they know we would almost guaranteed pick mackinnon or drouin??

just using them as an example.

And also just regurgitating someone else's idea...

this is all clearly hypothetical anyways.

I remember Poile said he would never draft a Russian again.

It's important to keep in mind that as the teams at the bottom of the standings start to sort of solidify their positions there the rankings may change just because of team needs. As mentioned, there are teams near the bottom who need defensemen.

Fair enough. I guess from a hypothetical situation though Calgary would be great to trade with if we won lottery!

Even if they didnt pick until 3 or 4, then we still nab our big forward plus flames have three first rounds I'm sure we could steal the better of the two for #1 overall. Time will tell.

i think honestly we should tank as hard as possible to #2 to get mackinnon.. all reports and videos ive read/seen make him sound like a lock as a #1 FRANCHISE center.. along the likes of john tavares. good defensively, wins faceoffs, and an absolute wizard offensively in every aspect. im serious, we should lose out.. we're not bad very often.. this could be the year that we look back and say it changed our franchise forever. lose the next 5 and we should be a lock for #1 or #2 .. i expect us to be #4-#6 and to get a barkov, lindholm, ect which seem to be pretty "sure bets" as impact centers in the NHL. but nothing like macKinnon.. we need to find a way to get this kid.. seriously tank.

I believe the pick will be Swedish center, Elias Lindholm, if NSH indeed ends up in the 6 to 8 range. PHI will find a way to draft giant D-man Nurse, and I think TBL is quite comfortable drafting the big Russian winger Nichushkin.

I don't think we have a choice on that, we're bad right now.

If everyone wins some of their games in hand it is a much different picture. At this point it is in the realm of possibilities that we fall to third.. and that we don't score another goal all season

Yep I would love to be at 3. Drouin or Mackinnon would most likely be ours.

Lots of games in hand on everyone. We can drop quite a bit.

only if any of those teams start winning

If we are going to have a horrible season might as well do it right. Sucking already got us flipper getting in the top 3 and getting a franchise forward or center can change this franchise in a very good way for many years.
