This board has to discuss lines more than any other board on this site. Maybe more than every other board combined. We're obsessed with lines. We should rename it Lines. We can do lines.

It's crazy how Bennett is proposed as either 2nd line or 4th.

we wouldn't have to talk about lines if our coach put together decent lines

he can play anywhere in the line-up. I hear he looks good in a suit, too.

Every thread is the line thread.

But really, we don't have much else to complain about, so lines it is!

Speaking of lines.. did anyone think about lines if Sid comes back before Neal?

Yea, it would be a ghost town if Beau was playing every night and Glass was in the press box.

Actually, no, one or two people would complain about wingers or lack of fights. But other than that, most of the posts would come from "fans from other teams coming in peace, out of the concern in their hearts, to check on Sid and Neal"

Kunitz - Sid - Dupuis

someone - Geno - Iggy.

That will be very interesting. Honestly, I think it defaults us to Kunitz - Sid - Dupuis. Which I hope doesn't happen. So I just now realized I want Neal back before Sid I guess

I fear you're probably right.

I guess best case scenario is they come back on the same day, that way a ton of line juggling will have to occur.

But no other team has the ability to ice 3 #1 lines with an amazing 4th...yet they still have to deal with Glass in there...

Would LOVE:

Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla
Bennett-Malkin-Neal
Morrow-Jokinen-Dupuis
Cooke-Sutter-Kennedy

Would also enjoy:

Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla
Jokinen-Malkin-Neal
Morrow-Sutter-Dupuis
Cooke-Adams-Kennedy

Expect to see:

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Neal-Malkin-Iginla
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Glass-Adams-Kennedy

Bylsma is gonna mess this up...I know it...he's going to cost us the Cup.

I like your lines and agree that our coach will 'Bylsma' them into the least effective combos imaginable.

I truly feel that the only hope for Crosby and Iginla to skate together is if Sid returns before Geno. If that happens I think Bylsma will break his rule of keeping the 14-87-9 line together so that Iggy plays with one of the elite centers. Unfortunately that means we'd be piecing lines together right before the playoffs and everyone would be rusty.

No matter what, Bylsma is putting that line back together.

ARGH, I wish Mario or Shero or someone would tell DB what to do with the lines, but that will never happen...although does anyone else think he might've been told to scratch Martin/Michalek and play Strait/Despres in the playoffs last year?

I don't think there's a chance in hell that Jokinen sits. The way he's been playing and how good he is at faceoffs, I don't see it happening.

I still don't understand people being bummed about keeping Dupuis on Sid's line. Quite honestly, he's playing a lot better than Iginla. He's been on fire lately, and the chemistry is great with him and Sid. By the time Sid gets back, it'll be playoffs time, and I don't want them wasting time trying to find chemistry with him and Iginla.

If Bylsma sits Bennett when everyone is healthy, I am going to be so mad. Actually, he WILL. So this just translates into "I will be so mad about this at some point in the near future."

Seriously, I love Dan as a coach but I hate his "favorites" mentality. You can't ignore the MAJOR impact Bennett has when he is in the lineup. You're telling me Glass is an upgrade over Beau? Come on Disco. Enough is enough.

The only way that it doesn't happen is if Sid comes back before Geno. If he does then Bylsma will put Iginla on Sid's wing to keep him on a line with an elite center and hopefully they will click. Then and only then can I see the lines changing up to rescue us from the colossally stupid Iginla-Malkin-Neal combo that Bylsma wants to use.

WE HAVE TO PROTECT CROSBY. Iginla can protect Crosby better than Dupuis can. Teams will be looking to facewash and jab at Crosby's jaw after the whistle in the playoffs.

Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla
Morrow/Jokinen-Malkin-Neal
Morrow/Jokinen-Sutter-Dupuis
Cooke-Adams-Kennedy
extras: Bennett-Vitale-Glass

Valid point. We need stomp on that quick. Wouldn't mind Engo playing as a 7th Dman. Fight the first guy who tries...but then again Sids jaw is going to be stronger than before when he's back. I doubt coaches would want him playing unless he's 100% and can take contact to it.

If we needed protection we should have nabbed Clowe along with Murray!

Just play Sid on a line with Engelland and Murray. I'm sure he'd bank a few goals off of their behinds.

I like this except for the 4th line not having a faceoff guy. I don't want our 4th line losing draws and then spending a prolonged shift hemmed in our zone. Vitale could rectify this, but I doubt DB sits Adams.

Cooke - Vitale - Adams
