Ottawa media hyped him up huge. Said he was going to step in as the 2nd line centre as a rookie. He looked lost in the few games he played and went back to Russia. He wasn't ready to play in the NHL when he came over. Needed time in the AHL and that wasn't going to happen.
Ottawa fans are notorious for over-hyping prospects, they also said that Rundblad was untouchable and a sure-fire franchise dman because of his success in the SEL
Not true at all... Not to mention, the hype for Kaigorodov was almost none existent from Sens fans until Murray said he would be our 2nd line center immediately. Then there was a summer of high expectations, fuelled entirely by Murrays statement. Also, most Sens fans still think Rundblad will be a great NHLer. His puck skills are amongst the best in the league.
