Exactly. It's just basic math. It has absolutely nothing to do with integrity.

It's 5 days for every subsequent round.

The reason for the extra 2 days for the first round is because it's traditionally the first time that teams get individualized attention, but maybe we don't need to do that with the assassinations split by division.
I think giving it a full week for the 1st round is still a good idea. I like trying to pace the ATD playoffs to end during the real Cup finals, and though we have an extra round beyond the normal NHL, five day rounds get us through the playoffs just a bit too fast. Let's give it a whole week.

When I collect votes and someone doesn't rank their team first (it has happened 3-4 times) I still give them the first place vote. it is a reward for participating in the voting process. Or, rather, a penalty for those who don't.

I have 17 votes in, not counting my own. A lot of the vets like nik jr, Eagle and Nalyd haven't voted yet, but I expect them to vote this evening. Hopefully, we end up with at least 30 votes cast for the regular season.

Solely an inquiry, when can we expect results to be fully tabulated?

You are to compare the 4 teams in each division against each other and rank them 1-4.

Rank your own team 1st in your division; it is the reward for voting. If co-GMs both vote, they each get 1/2 a vote when it comes to ranking their own division.

Please PM votes for 4 divisions in the Red Fisher Conference to me (TheDevilMadeMe). Please PM votes for 4 divisions in the Jim Coleman Conference to Sturminator.
Just want to clarify - since regular season "points" are going to be used to determine matchups in the second round of the playoffs, the only fair thing to do is to give co-GMs half votes for their entire conference - if they get full votes for every division but their own, there are a couple of fewer points available for the teams in their division.

I doubt it will make a difference, but I wanted to post it here to be open about the way I am going to count votes.

Early critique of the rankings? Hopefully we won't have a lot of: "I can't believe ____ is seeded _____ !"

The seedings are polling results for playoff match-up decision making. Nothing more with regards to the playoffs. So no need to complain. Even if the seedings were exactly how one oneself think they should be, it doesn't matter to the playoff match-ups because: 1) The regular season and the playoffs are two different animals, as the history of hockey has shown; and 2) Teams are matched up across divisions for postseason play. Some divisions have four great teams, others have two; seedings are only significant to the playoffs as a procedural matter, though it's a snapshot of opinion regarding teams relative to three others within the same division.

One of these divisions stands out as waaaay stronger than the others, and there's one where I think all four teams are crap. Just something that stood out while I was ranking them this evening.
